Ultracuts - Calgary

I showed her my drivers license picture of the cut I wanted which left about 2" on the top and she gave me a buzz cut. I think her name was Wendy, she definitely can't cut hair.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, DO NOT RECOMMENDED COMING HERE!!! I came to the solan to get ombré done, knowing my hair was dark, I asked if it was possible to even do the colour I wanted, I even said if you can't do ombré do highlights to lighten up my hair. The woman who was doing my hair and her co-worker contemplated if the colour would come out the way I wanted it too. My stylist went too the washroom and her co-worker said "it will go blonde but maybe not the exact colour you want it, the colour will be a little different, but it will still look good." I specifically told them "DO NOT DO THIS IF MY HAIR WILL TURN ORANGE." Both of the workers agreed that it wouldn't. The co-worker also asked if I would be willing to cut off a few inches which I was fine with since my hair had dry ends anyways and bleach wouldn't help the dryness. My stylist begun with cutting my hair and then started to put the bleach dye in my hair; after she was done applying, I sat there and waited for the bleach to lift my hair colour. My stylist open the tin foil too see how the dye was doing and told me we would have to put another coat of bleach on it (she proceeded to put 2 coats of bleach on my hair after this) after 25-30 mins of waiting for the bleach to lift my current hair colour she said this is as blonde as we are going to get it, my stylist took me to the sink and toned/washed my hair. When she was washing my hair she did not use the proper technic that stylist are suppose to use while washing my hair, nor did she wash it very well. As she was blow dying my hair I started to appear ORANGE. She "finished" blow drying it (my hair was still wet) and she said she was done, she didn't even style it. My stylist said "It looks great." After sitting in this Solan for 3.5 hrs they accomplished destroying my hair completely... My hair is 3 different colours, the hair cut is unevenly, and my hair is completely fried. My hair is so fried that I can put heat on it, or it will burn off. I'm also gunna have to cut off most of my hair now, because it is dead. The people that work here aren't professional at all or seem to know what they are doing. It makes sense now why they have such little service in solan. Only positive thing about this place is thankfully I got my money back.

The lady who cut my hair was really nice and I tipped her $10 based on how comfortable I felt in the chair. However, the layers weren't the same on each side and she went much shorter than I had asked for. I've been wearing a ponytail for 2 weeks!

Trina is the best stylist I've ever experienced. No one perms and cuts like Trina!!! I am an 80 year old so you know how many hairdos I have had in my lifetime, there has never been one, even close, as wonderful as the results that Trina obtains, fantastic !!!!! You will not find any better!!! I go in as an 80 year old and come out feeling 20!!! If I could give 10 stars i would. Thank you Trina for always making my hair look the best ever!

Would not recommend. The Russian lady who washed and cut my hair was just not good at all. The hair wash was rushed and not enjoyable at all. She then hurried me into the chair and rushed my cut and gave me a horrible hack job. To top it off she had the audacity to charge me $32 and laughed in my face when I told her how disappointed I was. Worst hair cut I have had in 20 years :(

There is not one bad stylist at Ultra cuts on 130th Avenue SE in Calgary. I can always get a haircut, style and blow dry here and never have to wait very long. Early morning (before 11) seems best. The stylists are all friendly and very accommodating. Always get a great cut.

If you are not overly picky , and need a quick haircut , the ladies here never disappoint.

I got my haircut and highlighted by Gina and she was awesome. Great quality cut and colour, her attention to detail is impressly extensive. She was also very friendly, kind and very much concerned with ensuring she provided the service I requested. 10/10 would recommend Gina.
