About Trowbridge Falls Municipal Campground

Most Provincial Offence charges result in out-of-court payments. Citizens who are issued Provincial Offence tickets should read them carefully for a complete list of their payment and trial options.

Option 1, Plea of Guilty - Payment Out of Court

By choosing this option, you are stating that you are guilty and you must pay the total payable at the bottom of your ticket. You can pay the fine either in person or by mail at any Provincial Offences Court location in the Province of Ontario. Cheques should be made payable to the City of Thunder Bay.

Option 2, Plead Guilty with Submission as to Penalty

By choosing this option, which is also known as a "walk-in plea of guilty," you are stating that you are guilty but will provide submission as to penalty (ability to pay fine or more time to pay). You must attend the Provincial Offences Court office indicated on your ticket. Please bring your offence notice with you.

Option 3, Trial Option (Not guilty)

If you wish to plead not guilty you must sign your name under Option 3 on the back of the ticket as well as note any change to your address. You can either mail it or drop it off at the Provincial Offences Court office indicated on the back of your ticket (blue copy). You will receive a Notice of Trial in the mail in the next few weeks after we receive your request. If you do not receive a Notice of Trial in 3-4 weeks, contact the Provincial Offences Court office to confirm the status.

NOTE:  You have 15 days from receipt of an offence notice to exercise one of the above noted options.  If you fail to respond you will be deemed not to dispute the charge.

This is a campground with the potential to be very good, but the lack of maintenance and lack of policing leave it wanting. There is excellent river access as well as a good proximity to Thunder Bay, the staff was friendly, and convenient hiking/bike trails. The washrooms and showers were rundown and in disrepair, there were missing fire rings, broken picnic tables, graffiti and a general sense of apathy toward the campground conditions. This state of apathy leads to a significant dirt bag clientele that has no problems walking through your site and letting their dogs run loose wherever they please. Needs a general policy change and upgrades for me to ever go back.

This is a great place to take the family camping that isn't far from the amenities of the city, swimming and fishing spots as well as fair affordable pricing. There are alot of offgrid spots as well for hikers and campers who can't afford the costs of the actual campground.

We stayed at Trowbridge this past month and can't say enough good about it. The staff were incredibly helpful and would always follow up on any question right away. The sites are great although some will require an extra length of water hose and electrical cord. No worries for the average camper. We found the park to be spotlessly clean especially the showers and toilets. There are lots of trees and shade and it's a a short walk to the falls. Wonderful adventure. We'll be back.

I've always loved going for a walk or a snowshoe at Trowbridge. I have never camped here but would love to knowing that the locals believe it's haunted. Be careful in the summertime if you're swimming - the river has quite the unexpected current

This is a great place to go hiking and enjoy the river, listen to the birds and the wind in the trees. The bathrooms aren't always clean, and it is the only campsite that I have been stolen from. But with it being close to town, we can spend the weekend camping and easily pick up and drop off our kids at work or where they need to go. There are a couple of nice spots to swim and many places to comfortably relax in the water. As the shale is slippery, wear slip-free shoes.

Beautiful campground, easy access to lots of biking/ hiking trails, swimming and 3 min drive into the city. My only issues were there were no hooks/benches in the shower to hang or put your stuff and the highway was a bit noisy at night.

View is very nice, but no WIFI. Most other campgrounds have a Little or some sort of wifi, it would be very nice to have an option. The people that work there are very friendly and keep things very well where the camping is concerned. BUT, using the power is another issue. We had the coffee maker, the fridge and the fan running, but no A/C and the breaker would trip. That became very frustrating.... No matter how little we would put on, or have running the breaker would trip. Still a really nice place and area to see and walk around at.
