★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Terry Fox monument is located on the out skirts of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
It commemorates Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope for cancer research. A short walk up to the monument gives a panoramic view of Thunder Bay and it's surrounding.
There are nice benches and trails to have a picnic. There are both outdoor and indoor washrooms.
A true Canadian hero who had to stop his marathon here as his cancer came back.
All Covid protocols were being followed in the Visitor Centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am driving across Canada and was not impressed with my experience at one of the Thunder Bay hotels, so did not even go in.. it was so bad.
Anyway.. heading out towards Saulte Ste Marie I was desperate to fi d so.ewhere I could "de-moisturize" I saw the turning so turned in on a whim. It was 10.30pm and God bless them, they had the toilet lights on and yes.. they were open. I was so grateful!
You have no idea. There were one or two hippie vans there.. everyone dead asleep and it was clean e erywhere I looked.. Thank you!! This very weary traveller's was totally impressed. I had a look around and could see the view across the valley to the lake must have been spectacular.. judging g by the lights and shoreline.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot for photo. Unobstructed view of Lake Superior. You can also learn about Terry Fox and his journey. Washrooms were also available inside the visitor centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reading the inscriptions and seeing the statue chocked me up a little. Well worth the stop to pay tribute to this Canadian hero.
Also, a great place to get tourism info about Thunder Bay and the surrounding area. Staff was very friendly.
