Disgusting, dirty hallways and rooms. Rude staff Avoid this hotel at all costs. Homeless people begging for change in the parking lot. My husband and I had been driving for 15 hours and this was the first stop of our honeymoon trip. We didn’t think much of it as it was only a quick stop and all we needed was sleep. We went to bed in our dirty room and were awoken to our door being opened up at 12:30pm. Naturally, my husband jumped out of bed to see what was going on. The person ran away. He went down to the front desk and It turns out that their staff member was “checking to see if we were in there due to a system glitch” and meant to open up room on the floor above. No knock or anything… just totally unacceptable. Rather than apologize for waking us up, he and a female staff member were sitting their giggling about it. My husband asked for an apology and rather than getting one, he was told that the woman at the desk would call the police on him. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. I asked for a refund and was told that a manager would call me… it’s been two days and still no call. Please save your money.

On the positive side. The bed was fairly comfortable and it was a relatively in expensive place to get some zzzs on a trip. There was long line at the check-in so despite the fact I had prepaid it took at least 45 min to get through the check in. My wife even sent me an sos text to make sure I was OK. On arriving in the room we immediately looked for the thermostat as it was chilly. No heating vents or temperature controls of any sort were to be found. Luckily the water in the shower was very warm and we were able to quickly steam up the room. Unfortunately the shower also came with complimentary hair and a previously used soap bar. The coffee pot and complimentary coffee were conveniently located on the floor by the TV and one of the end table lights did not function which added some mood ambiance. The curtain rod on the right was sagging dramatically but it still served to block out the light. We were also serenaded with loud music and inebriated chatter at 2am. You just can't buy this kind of live entertainment. Overall the experience did not lend itself to any romantic activities, however in the morning we were pleased to find our vehicle unmolested. I doubt the 8 dollar upgrade to a king size bed would have enhanced our experience much. In summary if you need a quick inexpensive place to lay your head and dash and don't necessarily need a solid night's sleep, this place may be for you.

Staff was very polite and friendly . The outside of the building wasn't that great for looks and there was some sketchy people hanging around and didn't see any security either but I've definitely seen worse. The rooms were very nice clean and homey tho but I would suggest a bathroom renovation though cause u can tell its been decades since an upgrade. Not a whole lot of options for snacks and drinks and the ice machine near my room was broken. all in all if I had to stay there again I would but there should be a few upgrades to make it a better stay but I definitely seen worse

it was terrible experience. When we arrived, main lobby was very filthy and packed with used mattresses. Upon checking, we were charged $100 deposit, that was never refunded, despite of no damages, on top of that charge, we were charged additional $18.88, by mistake, according to the front staff. We tried to receive money back, but staff giving us round around and we cannot get of hold of the management staff to resolve unauthorized charges. DO NOT GIVE your credit card to the Hotel STAFF!! They they will use it and abuse it! Room was very dirty, linen looked like it was used already and bed skirt had blood stains. We could not find any other room available in the city therefore we ended up staying in this dump. We slept with light on, all luggage's were inside the bathroom to prevent any bed bugs infestation. We left the hotel at 5 AM, no need of breakfast or other "perks"

I expected much better of a hotel flying a major brand flag. This place is tired, tawdry, and disappointing. The entrance lobby was dark and dingy. When I arrived to check in at 7pm there was nobody at the front desk. The lobby bathroom was inaccessible. I felt like a rat in a maze trying to find our room. The room itself was very small and the case goods were well past their best before date. The bathroom was barely big enough to change your mind in, and the tub was only big enough for a child, not that you'd want to put yours in it, what with all the mold and mildew on the grout. The only saving grace was the bed - King size with a comfortable mattress and clean linens. The breakfast was a joke. Prepackaged baked goods, dry cereal and toast, & hard boiled eggs. The pancake machine was out of order, there was no yogurt or juice, and no tables in the breakfast room. We passed. It was grad weekend in Thunder Bay so accomodations were in short supply and priced accordingly. Would not stay again.

We have been here for 4 days; we have been in 3 rooms because the first one they put us in hadn’t been cleaned. We were made To pay the whole balance of the room ahead, even with the card down for the deposit; which I have NEVER had to do ever- part of the reason getting my money back is such a fight- they do this for a reason….. as for rooms, Second one we fought for 2 days with the door (house keeping and maintenance man we’re great when they did come after we switched rooms) , we also had a nail sticking out of the floor to our room, we got into our new room and found a bottle of methadone in the room (happy I found it before my kids did) manager is refusing ANY TYPE of compensation even though we were willing to stay and extra night instead of switching hotels or driving elsewhere since the new room was actually clean and semi comfortable and the front desk lady made it worth the stay as well as the head house keeper. The lady at the front desk has been amazing through everything and so was most of the staff… manager is a real piece of work. I have pictures of everything and will be contacting head office 100%! I am not one for posting negative reviews but last night was the last straw. If anyone wasn’t watching their child and their kid found the bottle before I did, it would have been far worse! My sister and I work and have worked in hotels and we know what is happening is wrong ;). Everything has been documented. So to the staff that have been great, I apologize now for this review. To the manager, do better.

After having pain with my credit card!! I showed up to the hotel after 15 hrs driving to be told that they were over booked! I told the front desk that I was having a confirmation! They keep repeating! “We know sorry! No rooms!” At the same time it was a other customer arrived! Same problem! The lady with her pregnant daughter booked week ago and still received a email mentioning her stay few hrs before arriving to the hotel! Same “Sorry no rooms available! Finally after arguing with the front desk! I requested to call the owner or what ever person was in charge if any incidents or accident happen! The front desk at first find me a hotel near by for over 100$ more!! I said no! They clean a room and I stay in a king size bed! No water for shower! The sink was block. Offer to send the maintenance guys and no one showed! Have to get a other dirty room to be able to shower in a other floor! Terrible experience! Never again!!!!

Chose this hotel as it was the most affordable and I remembered this hotel not being so bad in the past. I should have stayed across the street (Super 8). The room smelled like cigarette smoke, the ice bucket had old vomit in it, I found misc. skittles underneath and beside my bed, there were holes in the walls of my room, the ice machine on my floor didn’t work, and I should have booked online in advance- their regular rates are not worth it. I had some drinks I needed cooled but unfortunately the room didn’t have a fridge, had to use the bathtub. I did not dare try the pool or their breakfast- my room was gross, I couldn’t imagine what the pool or breakfast would be like. They did not tell me they charge a “sustainability” and “safe warranty” fee equaling close to $5, why? I don’t know. Someone please tell me. The best thing about my stay was the front desk clerk. She was so nice and was just as mortified when I gave her the ice bucket. I’m glad I was alone on this trip and not with guests. This would have been a lot more embarrassing. Do not stay here.
