My job has me on the road every second week. I stay in mostly Choice Hotels. I have stayed in this hotel many times when working in Thunder Bay. It is an older hotel but clean and the staff is fantastic. I suggest the suites if you need quiet.

Econo Lodge has failed miserably to provide a comfortable stay which they have promised on their site , but that’s not all. I and my FiancΓ© reached Thunder Bay late in the night after driving all the way from Ottawa and we as usual checked a couple of hotels nearby and called the front desk of Econo lodge. The person at the front desk spoke on the phone providing information that a room is available and you can either book it by coming to the hotel or online. We proceeded with booking it online and reached the hotel at 1 am in the night. As soon as we entered the space the person at the front desk did not even greet us I mean β€œ A hello” was too hard for him to say. As we reached we confirmed our stay, then the same person said that your booking has been scheduled for the same day but in the afternoon. The site through which we booked online automatically picked up the time as the check in time for the hotel which was 3 pm. And we wanted a room right then. We requested for an early check in but all he said was he cannot do it as you booked it online through a third party and there is discrepancy in time. But when we confronted him that the site automatically picked up the time for hotel check in , He responded that he knew such an error would happen and it was not his job to give his opinion. First of all that’s not an opinion. That’s known as Customer service that you have to provide proper information about your bookings and reservations whether online or offline. And if you are including a third party for payments the hotel has to make sure that they have authentic people to deal with it and receive their payments and there this person is telling me we have no idea about the third party and their confirmation. The person was rude, mannerless and absolutely not at all worthy to be a customer service representative. Not only this he turned violent, aggressive and loud that he will not give us a room and it’s his choice. I think the hotel should really review the people they are hiring because this is damaging their reputation. I had never experienced such a negative and attacking Body language and absolutely ill mannered verbal communication. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!

Pulled in late after a long day of driving. Were greeted by Mohit & Harsh in the lobby. They were both happy, pleasant, helpful, and professional. Got a good deal on a "recently renovated" room. We were shown the room and it was amazing. It was perfect in every way. The room had 2 extremely comfortable beds, laminate flooring, and spotless from top to bottom. Bathroom was the same. Continental breakie in the morning was also amazing, with lots of fresh options & fruit. Can't say enough positive things about Mohit, Harsh, and our experience. 5 stars all around. Kudos ?

Positive: Price. Dog room was available. Breakfast menu options Negative: Sheets were dirty. Felt like i was sleeping in grainy sheets. My room had a lot of thru walking traffic so it got noisy at times. No coffee maker in room. Cold at times despite adjusting the register a lot

3.5 stars. First the downsides: There was no microwave and my mother who has arthritis had difficulty going up the step at the side entrance, it was too high. The buttons to turn the light on didn't work, then we realized there were no lights, just a bedside lamp. The lights in the bathroom worked though. Upsides: it was cheap and had everything else I needed for an interim stay. It was clean and the beds were nice.

Great staff, and room. Took the time for extras in the room (note, mints, pen to write out any comments, channel list, rag for snowy boots). Even offered me an upgrade. Breakfast was great! Juice bar, cereal, yogurt, toast/bagels, waffle station, coffee. Would gladly stay again!

Positive: Room was not ready upon arrival, but quickly was given another room down the hall. Staff seemed to be very gracious, welcoming and overall friendly. Negative: Very poor internet service. Desk attendant was absent at about 0515 hr and I needed extra body soap before showering. Would have preferred a bell located at desk to call for staff.

Got here after 7 hours of travelling on the road. Front desk was very nice and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Only downside is that someone programmed the alarm clock to go off at 12:00 am and the other guests were a little loud after 11:30pm
