Horrible experience at TL Red Salon Worst experience I've ever had getting my hair done, so bad I walked out with a wet head and didn't tip and only paid for the colour and amateur haircut $172. I should have refused to pay that. I have never once left a salon this angry or in the state I have in my entire life. I couldn’t get into my regular stylist for another 6 weeks and I hadn’t had my hair done professionally since February. I usually get my hair done every 6-8 weeks and pay $250-300 with tip depending on what is done. The appointment started off OK, I showed Loanne pictures of styles and colors that I liked, SHE said no to all them and proceeded to show me pictures from her phone. I told her I didn't want bayolage the pictures she showed started at minimum $300, and would take 5.5-6 hours. I told her I didn't have time for that as I had a work meeting at 3:30pm (my appointment was at 1145, I was early by 15 mins). I then asked for a root and foil touch up, with a coppery brown mix. She did not listen at all. She proceeded to tell me that she would do it quickly and I would make a meeting I had to be at for 3:30pm in Calgary. I’ve got to say Loanne’s workmanship is comparable to a toddler playing with their Barbie's hair. Sloppy, unprofessional, she is egotistical and requires a hell of a lot more training to justify the confidence she has. Main complaints: - I needed to get a lot of length off, so she used a clipper to take about 4 inches off one side and about 6 inches on the other. Yep, it was angled?! This was prior to any colouring so I wasn’t too concerned. - 6 trips to the sink to wash different sections of hair, none of those times a towel was used, my top was completely soaked. Loanne didn't use the cupping over the ear technique that is commonly used so I had water and shampoo in my ears and it felt like I was having a cold shower and letting a 4 year old wash my hair. - hair dye marks on my forehead, my nose!?, under my chin AND below my eyes. - missed my work meeting, even though I made it clear I needed to be gone by 3. I still had the foils in my hair at 2:50. The state my face was in from hair dye there is no way I'd go in looking in state I did with soaking wet clothes. She told me to go to meeting and come back. (Keep in mind I had an angled cut, hair dye on my face, shirt was saturated in water and no time to even wash and dry my hair) - worst hair cut of my life. Uneven, blocky, almost like a bucket was put over my head and used as a template to cut around my neckline. Loanne wanted to style and trim after blow drying my hair, I had already lost complete faith in her abilities as a stylist and had enough. I was done and I didn’t want anything more to do with her. - oh and my hair is not coppery brown... it's blond and WHITE around my neckline. - little to no communication in the 4 hours I was there. I'm not sure who has rated Loanne 5 stars in the past but she had no problem telling me repeatedly that people pay her $500 to do their hair. The last time she said this I told her they were idiots. I expressed my concerns to the Manager Arleen via Facebook Messenger, she offered me a full refund on Friday night at 8:24pm and then I received a message this morning at 8:28am that a refund WOULD NOT be given. But they would fix my hair. (Not a chance!) Perhaps I’m not getting a refund because I didn’t delete my post from Yelp yet that was made on. Friday, I had intended to once I received the refund today. Save your money, I would have done a way better job giving myself a COVID cut. I am by no means high maintenance when it comes to my hair. The majority of time it’s tied up or straightened, I don’t curl it daily I don’t use hairspray or mousse or any other products. August 27, 2020 - There was no discussion, twice while I was a work Loanne demanded me to come in and to remove my review . Pathetic service. I got my $ back only because of the community response to my reviews. But I did not receive an apology. All the best, and I hope you do learn from this.

Very friendly and patient staff. Toby was super nice with my kids. Although my kids were anxious and made it hard for her to cut their hair, but she did a really good job.

Me and my mom had a very good experience here. I got my hair dyed, and my mom just got a simple trim. The people who did our hair ( Toby and Loanne) I believe their names were, were very patient and they communicated very well with me and my mom. We will definitely be coming back here.

Loanne is the best!! She loves what she does and it shows in her character. She took time to get my hair from being chlorine damaged to beautiful and soft. It was my first time going here and I will definitely be returning for all my hair needs. I would highly recommend TL Red Salon to anyone needing a cut.

Immediately after entering, I was a bit early for my appointment, I was offered complimentary beverages, and I waited only a few minutes. Toby was my stylist, she patiently looked at my photos, we discussed what each cut would entail as far as maintenance and daily styling, and then she gave me what I asked for! I appreciated not being pushed to purchase products, as we had discussed that I'm pretty "no maintenance", and the cut ended up being less than the estimate I had been given over the phone. I'll definitely be there again!

What a good salon to find near where we live! We relied heavily on all the very good reviews of this place and we were not disappointed. They are very accomodating and listens to what customers like. Very nice and satisfactory haircuts for my super-picky mom and me! To be able to easily book an appointment online is a plus for convenience. Shout out to Loanne and Carly; thank you very much! We will definitely come back for our next one. Highly recommended!
