P	Preman Jacob on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brilliant home style Indian food. Knowledgeable staff. Service with a style. They have a few items made fresh every day and other frozen curries too. Samosas and other snacks available. Nice selection of desserts. Their ‘burfi’ is authentic!! We visited this place twice on holiday. Enjoyed the butter chicken, beef vindaloo(spicy) and mutter paneer. Highly recommend!

B	Brittany Thiessen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mad Dog Cafe is a casual fast food restaurant serving East Indian cuisine, including a variety of curries, snacks, desserts and drinks. They also have a market area where you can purchase different Indian sauces and products and frozen/prepared meals. I ate here twice during my visit to Canmore as my hostel was right next door. Tried the chickpea fries with curried ketchup and the Alu Chole curry (vegan, potato and chickpea) with basmati rice and a mango lassi. Everything tasted incredible! I loved the spices and flavours. The restaurant has counter service only and you can dine in or take out. The seating area was nice and had views of the mountains out the windows. Service was very friendly and they even gave me a sample of the curry before ordering to make sure I liked it! I will absolutely be back here again!
f	fa fa on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really liked it! Cute place to grab a quick bite. Front area sells spices, frozen prepped food and other kits for making some of their yummy dishes at home. Indian butter chicken with jasmine rice was delicious! Spicy the way I like it! Maybe too spicy for average? (Usually I find the butter chicken not spicy at all and more sweet in most other places that have served it.) Coffee wasn't bad. Dark roast not quite as dark as I prefer it but still very nice. A few small seating spots. I like the spacing, it feels quite pleasant and comfortable. I'd recommend taking out your order, if you are a group of 5 or more people. Price point reference: we paid $40 (before tip) for 2 platters (1 with single curry, 1 with 2 curries and rice) + garlic naan for both and 2 x 16 oz coffees.

After seeing a post about this cafe now offering breakfast, I gave it a shot. My gosh, the English breakfast is so hardy and delicious. It had English bacon, homemade sausage (2 of each), toast, grilled tomato, sautéed mushrooms, eggs and beans. So very tasty and worth every visit:)

The poppadoms were great and the butter chicken was amazing, I was pretty sad when I had finished it. They also offer naan-sandwiches for those who aren’t too fond of rice, which were really tasty, we are excited to come back. Thanks for having us!

One fewer star for the price. I understand being it in Canmore and all. But the price is a tad expensive overall. The view from the cafe is great. They don't have coffee. But you can have tea.
