Seafood Paella was great! Well spiced.
We asked for recommendations on cocktails (no strong liquor taste), and I ended up getting Paris ‘99 while my friend got Crazy Monkey.
Paris ‘99 was just what I wanted - sweet, not so strong.
However, Crazy Monkey was extremely strong in taste, which was the opposite of what we asked for.
But overall, a great time at Flying Pig ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered a Caesar salad with roasted garlic and pork belly croutons, and beef short rib braised in red wine with beef bone marrow. A crispy Brussels sprouts side. The pork belly crouton was the reason why I wanted to try the salad. While bacon is perfectly smoked, they could have rendered it more to improve the texture. Most bites were returned with the sensation of "chewing the fat". The romaine was a bit lame. Worst of all, the temperature was tad high for a Caesar. The red wine braised short rib was served without any braising liquid. Frankly the meat tasted like it was braised in water sans herbs. I had to ask for salt. Yes, that bad. The crispy Brussels sprouts get an 8. Can't complain about the service nor price though. Staff were very friendly and eager to please. Everything in the menu is very reasonably priced. A bit noisy but typical for restaurant of this style.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spent the evening here with a friend on our last night in Vancouver before flying home to Alberta and MAN was it amazing. The food is incredible and the service was top notch. I forgot the name of our server but he was so friendly and willing to play along with our banter. Loved my time here!

We have a group of six people. We ordered variety of dishes, all of them were either under seasoned or bad tasted.
It’s like you paid double of the price to get the food from White Spot.
Nothing wrong with White Spot, I love their breakfast menu.
But when they charge this amount of money to their customers, they should work on their food before they serve to their customers.
One star for super friendly staffs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been wanting to try out the Flying Pig for awhile and it did not disappoint. I had the eggs Benny, and it was delicious. My parents had the country style breakfast, and pulled pork sandwich. They were very good as well. Looking forward to go back and try out the rest of the items on the menu!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a nice cafe which offers brunch, lunch and dinner. Although make sure to watch for the time if you are a brunch lover like I am as they stop serving it after 11. They offer drinks but there was not much variety on the menu, so go to the bartender and ask for the specific drink you like. Overall it is a good place to visit if you are in Gastown.
