DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS AIRLINE. First off, my flight got delayed by 1.5 hours, but that’s not the main course. Contents in my luggage were stolen including a Christmas present for my mother that I planned and purchased 11 months ahead because of its limited edition. I tried calling the airports who then informed me that I had to call the specific airline. I tried calling Sunwing central baggage department NUMEROUS times but no one would pick up even though they were well within working hours. Called the Toronto Aiport Sunwing Department and they couldn’t help me either. It seems there is no customer service number for these issues which was SO puzzling to me. I searched online and found out that there was another case where this had happened. The only thing I could do now is file a claim through email (and we all know how quickly emails get responded to) and wait for their reply. Still awaiting an answer but just a warning for anyone else who’s looking to book with this airline. I STRONGLY recommend against it in case you want the aforementioned events to happen to you. I’ve never had to experience this with any other airline and wish I just had paid a little more to go with a more reputable company.

BEWARE of their "cancellation/change" policy. We booked and called within 10 hours to make a cancellation and/or change our hotel and were told our booking DOES NOT QUALIFY as a result of the flight being WestJet (and not a Sunwing flight). So if you book a holiday, don't expect to get a change or cancellation / refund even under their 24 hour policy! WHY? Our flight was Westjet and not Sunwing so the whole cancellation policy is VOID. No changes to hotels or flights, no reschedulling, and certainly no refunds. If you cancel there will be ZERO refunds. UNACCEPTABLE - especially under Covid

Has anyone been able to figure out why the taxes on all inclusive vacation package is almost as much as the hotel stay itself? I can understand why a budget airline would charge for seat selection, food and drinks on board . I can also understand the limited leg room on board. However, what I cannot understand is how their airline staff are so poorly trained to deal with their customers. On our flight back to Vancouver from Cancun, the flight was initially delayed for one hour. The flight was then further delayed by another hour. We went up to the gate counter and inquired about the reason for the second delay. The Sunwing representative seemed upset that we had even asked the question (apparently Sunwing is well known for its delays). She just pointed up toward the monitor and curtly said "as you can see the flight is delayed." There was no explanation for the 2 hour delay and our flight was stuck on the tarmac for another 40 minutes before it finally took off. When we arrived in Vancouver, it took us another hour and a half to clear customs because our delayed arrival coincided with 8 other plane arrivals around the same time. I hope Sunwing would consider improving their customer service and increase customer satisfaction in the very near future otherwise it is highly unlikely that we will fly with them again.

Never book your vacation with these scammers!! Hidden costs everywhere. Plus, they changed our direct flight to indirect flight, and did not even offered food to compensate for the extended trip… And their customer service is so rude!! They just lough at your face…? Never flying with Sunwing again! ?

I wanted to come on here and leave a 5 star review as Ive seen nothing but negative reviews on here and was super scared to fly sunwing. My fiancΓ© and I ended up just booking a trip to Mexico because it was cheap and honestly the experience with sunwing specifically was so great!! No delays, super friendly staff and even the sunwing reps at the hotels were great. I will fly sunwing again in a heartbeat.

Booked 3 months in advance and paid for elite plus seats. Not only changed my direct flight to a connected flight even though we paid extra for it (stupid policy) , they even bumped us out of the seats we paid for to regular seats. Lesson learned , will never book anything with Sunwing again. Hope to see them out of business soon.

Sheer incompetence every step of the way and zero support from Sunwing with regards to the mistakes made. First, we arrived at the airport at 5:30am for a flight that boarded at 8:30am, left at 9:20am. Being so early, I knew we might have to wait to check-in, but luckily, there was an employee at the counter! But as we walked up, he left and called an all-hands with several other employees directly in front of the counter, in full view, ignoring us completely. It lasted over 30 minutes. Then, the flight was delayed to 10:30am, then 11:15am, with no explanation or apology. On the flight, they handed out declarations and forms while I was asleep. They did not give me a form because I was asleep. I requested a form when I woke up and the flight attendant said she assumed I didn't need one if I slept through it. She took 30min to get a form from the back and refused to provide a pen. When we landed, our shuttle bus to the hotel took us to the wrong hotel. Luckily, I had turned on data and been tracking the drive with Maps. His documentation had the wrong hotel listed and it took several minutes to convince him to take us to the correct hotel. The day we were set to leave, the shuttle bus back to the airport did not have our names on his list. The driver initially refused to take us and told us to call Sunwing. Sunwing customer support hung up when I asked them to speak with him regarding the shuttle. After, it took almost half an hour of arguing, showing our itinerary and instructions, and pleading before he agreed to take us, too. At the airport, our 5:40 boarding, 6:30 departure flight was also delayed with no explanation. Every 30min, they told us to get back in line, we waited 15min, they told us to sit down. We didn't board until 9pm and didn't leave until 9:30, so we didn't arrive in Vancouver until 3am PST. I tried calling Sunwing to complain. Every representative just read off of a script, the conversation going in circles. As soon as I would ask to speak to a supervisor, they hung up on me. I would call back and they would apologize and say the phone line must have cut out. This happened five or six times before I gave up. If you fly Sunwing, be prepared to advocate for yourself and don't expect any level of service or even the transportation you paid for.
