I always have to order the bossam & galbitang! It's even better than most of the ones I've tried in Korea! Hidden Gem for sure! ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sudam Korean Restaurant is a small establishment serving traditional Korean dishes. They serve bbq meat, soups, rice dishes and more. The restaurant also sells side dishes to take home (Kimchi and more).
The location is convenient with a large parking lot nearby. Allowing for an easy access. The interior is small. Which can make it seem cramped. However, the tables are a good distance apart. Allowing for each customer to enjoy their food, with ample space.
The food is quite tasty. The side dishes provide are all fresh. The kimchi was well made and did not have an overly sour taste. The spicy soup was delicious. It was spicy without being too hot to handle. There was a decent amount of meat. However the beef was a little dry. Rice was provided with the soup. Pairing the rice with the soup allows for a more soft texture.
The service was quick and friendly. As soon as you sit down, they bring you tea (free). The food came out quick and very hot. So be careful not to burn yourself. The price of the food was a little expensive. Customers should expect to pay a little more than usual, in comparison to the average Korean restaurant.
Overall, Sudam Korean Restaurant is a great place to eat. Especially great for those cold winter days. With excellent service and hot food, this will be a place to revisit in the future!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think They are the only Korean restaurant in Calgary that serves boussam. This dish just smells sooooo heavenly. I usually give 5 stars but there was an incident once that did not get rectified, we never asked for anything to be free but neither was anything offered. We still come back to eat here because mistakes happen, and it does anywhere you go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came specifically for the Army Stew (actually called Budae Jeongol Hot Pot). Sooo delicious! So many different flavours working together... spicy, sweet, tangy, and salty. Liked most of the side dishes included too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We’re a big fan of Korean food so we might be expecting too much from Sudam. The service was great but unfortunately, the food didn’t match. Paired that with the cost of the meal, it was just average and definitely not a place we would return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really enjoyed all food that we ordered. We loved the pancake thd first came out. I didn't take photo, cause we ate so quickly. We had a guest with us, she also really liked all dishes. One thing I didn't feel really comfortable, I can't order extra food later than the first order. Overall great experience.
I enjoyed the lunch here today.
I ordered the Galbitang (less meat) but I liked more Hot-pot Bibibbam.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall the taste of food is average level. You feel nothing goes wrong, but none of them make you excited.
They charge $1.5 for refill one side. It was not a surprise on the bill but owner could spread the cost to other dishes making more sense to me.
Generally I felt so rushing to have lunch in the weekend here. Even the food itself , I felt it was like a fast Korean food. Not very enjoyable on either the food or the vibe here.
