I'd give 0.5 stars but that's not an option here. My doctor ordered chest x-ray but since I have a fever the lab sent m to the hospital to get the x-ray done. They refused me service. Because I have a fever I wasn't even allowed in the hospital. I was actually kicked out and told to stay home and that my doctor should know better than to send me for a chest x-ray. Tomorrow I'm calling them and if they still refuse me service I WILL TAKE MY STORY TO THE MEDIA. UPDATE: I called and left a message after I had left this review and the next morning surprisingly I received a call back. Long and short of it is that I was given a apology and got my chest x-rays done and the screening staff that refused me was investigated, and they were all retrained on what the job is and how to do it properly.

There was only 15 persons in the emergency room and still they took 7 hours for complete checkup including small introductions which took after 1.5 hour of waiting and then Blood work after 3 hour waiting and final say on the results took another 2.5 hours. Even Blood work reports would come online not on the spot. I don’t know, if Canada’s Medical Health Care System couldn’t handle 15 patients in an emergency room with 7 hours of waiting. What the future of Canada Medical Care would look like.

Absolute worst doctors that can't diagnose anything regarding mental illnesses. They experiment on people with pills, and tell you their is no withdrawals even if your hands shake after the medications wares off. I mean how can you diagnose a drugged person, but they do this exact thing. Never inform psychiatric patients about legal health advisors, simply just give them a sheet to read, which nobody does. When someone realizes their rights on form 1 they will transfer hospitals to sign form 3. Never answer help button, someone die of a heart attack waiting for the nurses while they are playing "not me". Just leaving an honest review of what I've seen.

I’ve spent the past decade in and out of hospitals because of my cyclical vomiting and I’m used to the worst. I’ve been going to this emerg for the past 9 months and I can say the staff here are exceptional. They are always kind, empathetic, and very patient in addition to being quite knowledgeable. I went in last night at 4 AM and again I was struck with just how much our healthcare professionals have to deal with and yet they still show up and give every patient the best care possible. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the wait time but I’ve never had to wait more than 3 hours from the time I’m walking in the door to being placed in a bed with care staff and that seems pretty amazing to me. Anyways I wanted to come on here and give some much needed recognition to the staff at St. Joseph’s and say thank you!

We went for emergency service at 3 am. Each and every person starting from doctor to administration and security , were extremely helpful , empathetic and kind even at those odd hours. Thank you so much to all. Every kind act especially at emergency situations always stay with us as special memories.

I fell on ice and came to the emergency room in a wheel chair. Waited for 6 hours and nobody came to talk to me even once! Then they have the audacity to ask for donations. Convalescent care? St. Joe's doesn't know the first thing about it. I rather stay home next time. They should be embarrassed by how poor their service is. Absolutely terrible! UPDATE: it's been 7 hours now and still nothing so I asked to be brought back to the main entrance so I can call a ride and go home. The nurse gave me attitude, never apologized for being terrible at their job and then made a joke in poor taste. Right on St. Joe's, you continue to out-do yourself!

If I could rate this hospital ER zero stars I would. I have been in an ER all day, I realize that this would make anyone frustrated. I Was sent here this AM for a CT Scan from Urgent Care in Stoney Creek. Was triaged quickly, but was then told the next room was too full to go for my Scan (my IV was put in at Urgent Care), so was told to wait. 4 hours later, and after a shift change, I start to think that maybe I've been forgotten? The room here is clear, and others have been going in for scans. When I inquire to the new triage nurse about how much longer, I am told "I don't know who you are, so I can't tell you". And she continues to walk away. If someone really cared, seeing a person sitting for 4+ hours and not so much as talking to them, or seeing how they are doing, is the worse care you can give. So, about an hour later, triage asked who I was to find out what was happening, since I had been here for so long.

This hospital is the worst hospital I have ever been to in my life. I had my first experience when going to the ER for a mental health crisis in which I waited over 12 hours only to be told that most people leave wanting to commit suicide even more after being in patients there. I was given no further steps other than to contact a doctor at my own university which could take weeks. My next experience I had severe pain at the back of my head that felt as if my brain was going to pop in one spot. I called 911 because of how bad the pain was, and the paramedics took over 30 minutes to get to me despite living within 10 minutes distance of the hospital. I was treated like a crazy person by the medics on the way to the hospital, shown absolutely zero compassion by the medic helping me. I was sobbing and shaking in severe pain followed by hyperventilating and all the medic was concerned of was that I didn’t take my mask off to breathe, not offering help or assistance at all. Once in the ER which was empty as it was 4am, I had to wait over 4 hours for excruciating pain. I could hear the paramedics that brought me in making fun of me with the nurses while I cried alone in the ER. I had brought a pillow with me and they actually said β€œshe may as well be a child she brought a stuffed bag”. Absolutely so unprofessional and I received no help. Despite feeling like I was about to die, I along with numerous others throughout the night left because of how little care was given to anyone. I had not seen a doctor once during my entire experience, only a medical student. This hospital is full of medical negligence and deserves every lawsuit given, and probably many more. Never ever come here.
