We took our reactive Jack Russell puppy to Jeff at Sit Happens. His method for training has turned our dog into an amazing companion that listens, obeys and (most importantly) has a much happier life. We tried other trainers before Jeff and nothing was working for our dog. We honestly noticed results from the first visit. Jeff is dedicated, responsive and patient. We couldn't be happier with the results!

I had heard so many negative comments about electronic collars that I had it in my head as a last resort device for training and believe me I tried everything else before I finally decided to call Jeff. I felt like I had failed my girl and I had! She was very timid as a pup at 12 weeks when I got her and as she grew she started to become unpredictable with other dogs and strangers even though she was a sweetheart with people and dogs that she knew. She constantly pulled on the leash when I tried to walk her and paid less and less attention to my commands. She was very distracted and excitable and didn't seem to know how to focus anywhere past the end of her nose. We had a glimmer of hope the first day that Jeff came to help me work with her. He was so patient with us both and explained everything he did and the why behind it all. Luna and I worked very hard everyday with her e-collar on and she has made so much progress, she is like a different dog. People are now commenting on how she is such a well trained dog instead of crossing to the other side of the street to pass us. She comes on command now and knows how to sit, stay, place and heel. She barks less in the house and she has made huge progress with her distractions. We continue to work on her training every day. I only wish I had heard as many positive comments about the electronic collar as a training tool when she was a puppy and that I had used it as my first choice instead of my last. The collar is like any other tool, if it's used properly at the right time it is a game changer! Thank you Jeff from Luna!

Jeff and Marilyn are amazing at what they do. Period. If you would like a puppy/dog that is well trained I recommend going nowhere but them. Let me tell why I make a serious statement like this (I don’t do this usually but this one very well deserves it): 1. I had two dogs before I met them, and now I‘m quite sure that my previous dogs were actually wild horses! When I had my new puppy Sparky and train with Sit Happens, I noticed that being a dog owner is not that much of stress - leash pulling, shouting, and hoping that your dog will listen to you one day, etc...it’s all about fun and having a wonderful time with your dog. Mark my words - if you follow their guidance, this is also what you will experience - happy & awesome relationship with your dog! 2. Sit Happens consists of very professional trainers that know what a dog is anatomically, and most importantly psychologically. They will provide tips and support on your journey and as long as you are willing to follow their guidance, that support will be with you always for the rest of your dog’s lifespan. 3 . Once you are committed, as mentioned you will always have the support but most importantly you will also have unlimited trainings with them on the selected weekends that they communicate with you. 4 . If you are like me, and you brought your dog when it was puppy, you will also have once in a lifetime opportunity for your puppy! It’s called puppy training days where only puppies are allowed with their owners! This is crucial because it makes your puppy “human” - allows to socialize with other dogs so your puppy doesn’t grow up to be a violent, scared or barker on anything when it grows up! This itself is priceless for you and your puppy! My puppy was so scared and anti social and now he is confident, happy and playful! At the end the decision is yours but this is my journey. Jeff and his team have been great helping us train our puppy Jasper. Friends of ours recommended Sit Happens when we got Jasper as a puppy last year. His in-house sessions were brilliant and very quickly helped us teach Jasper how to reliably come, stay, and heel. It was amazing to see how quickly Jasper learned using Jeff's methods. The group sessions have also been lots of fun and helped get us to the point where we can now take Jasper places off-leash with confidence. It's so nice to be able to go to the park, let him run and play, but also know that he'll come right back to me when I call. I can walk with him heeling right next to me and then send him off for another run. He gets to have lots of fun and I know I can keep him safe at all times. I recommend Sit Happens to everyone who asks - it's been a great learning experience for me and it's so much more fun to have a dog that behaves and listens well. Worth every penny!

Sit Happens is gloriously accurate in its name. We have two puppies we brought to Marilyn for training, back to back. The outcome is absolutely satisfying. Marilyn is like a dog whisperer knowing the exact questions to ask us, and then efficiently teaches us the developmental and temperamental needs of the dogs. Because of her we have a reliable path on how to train and love our two maturing puppies. As Marilyn is amazing, her collaborative team steps forward and matches her. Our young dog Bailey trained with Sit Happens. Bailey went from a lovely dog without manners to an obedient dog that we can’t get enough of. Bailey is happier and healthier since she trained with Sit Happens for 21 days. I would recommend to anyone who wants the best for their puppy.

Being first time pet owners in Toronto, we decided to get a pup from a breeder in vancouver mostly because we wanted to benefit from the board & train being offered by Sit Happens PoCo. Having witnessed how well my niece’s dog matcha did with Jeff and team, we were destined to get the same training for our pup. We got Milo at 8 weeks of age but the 3-week board & train would only start when she was 12-weeks, so my family in vancouver took her in for month and Jeff/Owner of Sit Happens advised us on the do’s/don’ts to set her up for success. when the time came for Milo to start, we were excited but also weary that it was a lot for them to accomplish in a very short amount of time. Jeff provided constant updates throughout the training, reassuring us that milo was learning and doing well at the various stages. He shared pictures of her with trainer Juergan and it was surprising to see that she was in a normal household with other dogs, people, and everyday life. before she returned, Jeff explained the process and next steps for us to follow. One of the training methodologies is the use of the e-collar which has come under constant scrutiny. When Jeff outlined how it works as a positive reinforcement, we were on board with using this as a method of communication with our pup. As soon as juergan brought milo home, not only were we surprised at how quickly she remembered us but also the poise she held while waiting for juergan’s okay to come greet us. This was my first time meeting her but we instantly formed a connection. Juergan spent time with us over the next few days to ensure we were comfortable and able to maintain the learnings. He was very patient and reassuring when we did practice runs with her, always cognizant of thresholds on either side. Both Juergan and Jeff were avail to us daily, checking in on her progress, answering the many questions first time owners usually have, and providing constant guidance and insight. we went to one of their park sessions over the weekend and that learning was priceless. since we’ve returned home, Jeff has been doing frequent check ins, answering questions and continuing to guide. I would highly recommend training with Sit Happens PoCo whether your dog is a pup or an adult. they are one of a kind and the only type of training you should consider for your dog. The best decision I made for my dog (Dewey) and myself! Training with Jeff has given me the confidence and peace of mind in taking my dog out and taking him on adventures. I came to Jeff full of anxiety and urgency because I was about to move to a remote island full of wildlife. I do also want to say that he's amazing in the city now because of this! I trained with a different trainer a year prior, which left me with full of anxiety. Based on amazing reviews, I decided to go with Jeff and Sit Happens Dog Training. I initially wanted to get my dog into board and training with him but he discussed this with me and suggested that I just go in for a few sessions and try his group session. From there, my dog was initially so weary of the collar, which is natural because it’s so new and unusual. However, in a couple of weeks he turned into loving it and every time I put it on he gets excited! All this to say, I am now living on the island and we both enjoy walks, adventures, and I can let him out freely with not a lot of fear of not getting him back. Jeff has been the most amazing trainer I’ve worked with, he is constantly so helpful and his guidance has helped me so much. Jeff is VERY knowledgeable and very understanding. He will spend the time understanding your dog, your lifestyle so that he can answer any specific questions and concerns you may have. He knows what he is doing and he knows it well! I do want to note that many people are hesitant of using anything other than traditional methods but believe me when I say, finding the best method for your dog (no matter what it is) should be your number one goal and this was it for me and my dog and many others he has worked with. My dog enjoys it, loves it and I feel the exact same way. If you’re feeling stuck and helpless, I suggest you give this a try and talk to Jeff and it will change yours and your dog’s life!
