Recently experienced a plumbing issue which caused my basement to become flooded. I called Shield Restoration and they sent Daniel. Him and his team did an excellent job and walked me through it step by step!

It has been a pleasure working with Shield Restoration! I can comfortably say based on personal experience that I highly recommend them for any emergency remediation or restoration/ renovation work. They showed up within the hour when the insurance said we’d be waiting days. They made sure all the work that needed to get done was done and no shortcuts were taken. Very happy to have used them for the restoration and remediation process rather than using the sub-standard company recommended insurance company.

This Winter, as a result of the rough weather, we came home one day to leaks in our master bathroom and in one of our bedrooms. We were shocked to see the bubbling of water build up in our ceilings and walls as well as water all over our floors from where the ceiling had cracked. The leaks were traced to our roof. We were referred to Steve at Shield Restoration Services by a friend and Steve and his team were absolutely amazing in such an upsetting situation for us. They responded promptly and were at our house reviewing the situation quite quickly. They provided expert, in-depth reviews of the damage and recommended a course of action to dry out all of the water. Once we agreed to a course of action, they had machines set up to dry out our rooms within 1.5 hours. They also came by regularly to check the status of the drying. They were always quick to respond to our calls and helped alleviate some of the stress we were experiencing. We always had the feeling that we were in good hands and could trust them. Best of all, the guys were absolutely great with my 3.5 year old son. He of course wanted "to help" and ran to get his toy tools and drill when they arrived. They totally humoured him and gave him small jobs to do and he LOVED it! I highly recommend Shield Restoration Services and wouldn't hesitate for a second to call them up again!

During the Ice storm in April of 2018, we experienced an ice dam on our roof. Water was coming into our house from the roof, damaging rooms on all levels of our two storey house. We had a few inches of water collected in the basement. I called Shield Restoration because we needed help. Within 2 hours, Dave arrived up to assess the situation. He carefully went through each room that had shown water damage. And he also showed me rooms where the damage hadn’t appeared yet – but would subsequently. He devised an initial plan that would start address the damage resulting from the water coming into our home. A few hours after that, a crew from shield arrived and started the drying/clean-up phase. The crew arrived the next day to remove the water soaked floors, and damaged drywall. At all times, the employees were kind, respectful and clean. Because the extent of the damage we suffered, we needed significant drying/dehumidifying. Shield employees always put drop cloths down in the house, as well as wearing boot covers. Shield also coordinated/performed the restoration. We need new floors in our basement, plus drywall repair/installation in all of our rooms, as well as painting. Bryan did most of the restoration work and the quality of his work was outstanding. As well, he was very kind and trustworthy (we left him the keys to our house to allow him to work while we were away). At no time did we feel uneasy having him in our house while we were home or not home. During the entire process we had to deal with our Insurance provider. Dave, having worked in the industry before, was very helpful in guiding us through the claims process – this was our first home insurance claim. I was always able to get in touch with Dave or Steve when we had questions regarding the clean-up, or restoration. This was very re-assuring, since it was a very stressful time for my family. We were/are totally satisfied with our dealings with Shield. I hope never have another flood / or similar event. But if we do, Shield will be the first call we make.

Back in April we had a water leak from a faulty valve on a brand new AO Smith water heater purchased from Lowe's. Lowe's and AO Smith would do nothing even though I had the receipt, had a Lowe's worker install it, and bought the extra insurance. I had to go through my insurance to get the damages fixed. I used Shield restoration to clean up, remove damaged materials, and restore the basement to its previous level. They did an awesome job and left everything looking as good or even better than before! Thanks for helping us!

What can I say.....I have never been so impressed with a company like this one. We had a sewer backup in our basement. I called them once it happened and Steve showed up the same day and began the process. They were so professional, kind, and caring. They began the work right away. They were very careful to minimize any noise during the day as we are all working from home. Steve act as a liaison with our insurance and always had our best interest. They had samples of flooring brought to our home and for me to choose. Byron and his team did a wonderful and professional job with the repair and rebuild of our walls and floors. They cleaned up and stored all our belongings in the basement for us and when it was completed, they came and put everything back and also came back to pick up anything further that needed to be disposed of. Being in lockdown with COVID, they were their masks at all times, layed down carpets to walk to avoid any of our flooring being damaged and constantly sanitized. We had water damage at our place and our plumber recommended Steve and the team from Shield. They were promt, (arrived within 90 minutes) - and had the tear down completed that afternoon. and within a week the repair was done on time, and worked with us on the price too! Darrion was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process, and their team made sure to clean up and were happy to discuss the work and take feedback to make sure they met and exceeded our expectations. Overall we were very pleased with their work, their professionalism, and promptness. They made what could have been a pain in the butt situation a breeze, and that's what you want after all when it comes to doing work on your place ( esp. if you're not handy like myself)

One morning recently, I came downstairs and noticed a significant amount of water pooling in front of my dishwasher and pushing out onto the rest of my main floor (hardwood and tile). Without hesitating (after turning off the water of course), I called Steve at Shield Restoration to assess the damage and to get started on the emergency flood work. It didn’t take long for Steve to determine what was required and almost immediately large fans, dehumidifiers, and other equipment were placed strategically in my kitchen, family room, and basement to minimize and mitigate the damage. Once Steve was satisfied that the moisture in the floor was eliminated, the equipment was removed and he arranged for his handyman to arrive on site and re-install the baseboards that had been removed during his initial assessment. Without Steve and his fast action, this flood would have almost certainly resulted in a sizeable insurance claim and a significant headache to live through the repair work. He and his team were responsive, knowledgeable, and considerate throughout the process. They also followed all necessary COVID-19 safety protocols. I would recommend Steve and Shield Restoration to anyone dealing with flood/fire damage.
