Bought a brand new built from this company but never addressed any deficiencies. Stay away.

A year and a half ago, I bought a then two year old house from Shergill, built by Shergill. A high-end home. Soon after buying, serious problems with windows and doors started to emerge. Serious enough that water and air were coming into the house. I contacted Shergill, since the house was less than 5 years old. His website says his homes are guaranteed for 5 years. But mine was built before the launch of the Alberta new home warranty program. At first Shergill insisted it wasn't his problem. He told me to contact the window vendor. I did. The window vendor refused to take responsibility, blaming Shergill. Shergill then promised, in writing, to visit my house, inspect and look for a solution. He stood me up and has refused to communicate since. At this point I'll be forced to sue both the window company and Shergill. I'll let the judge figure out who is responsible. So, if you're looking for a builder who keeps his word and accepts responsibility for his work, I would think twice about Shergill.

Worst builder ever!. Never keeps up with agreements. You have to be on top of them to ensure they do the right thing. Thank God my husband is particular about what he wants and agreements he makes, that was the only way we got our house. After 5 years there are still some things they never came back to fix despite our persistent efforts. Do not do withdrawal mortgage with them. You will definitely regret it. If you want to get what you paid for do not build with this company. BUYERS BEWARE!!!

I don't typically put a lot of reviews, however, this one was to good to pass. I put in a review on this builder to the BBB and this is what they respond to the review: BBB* Serving Southern Alberta and East Kootenay Better Business Bureau has received a response to your Customer Review submission. The business indicated: Firstly everything he is claiming is false as i have invoices for all the appliances that were purchased that year and they were brand new. Secondly he is claiming that I did not finish the work that needed fixing, would like to ask him the question that I was ready to send my trades when he said he wanted to use his handyman guy to fix which I paid more than I needed to and now he is blaming my trades that did not even fix the things that he is claiming but his guy did and know pointing fingers at me and my trades. Wow!! stand up customer that did things his way and blaming others. Bravo!!! There is nothing more to say for a man just nows how to lie. My response: Thank you for forwarding the message, it's pretty much what we expected from the caliber of the builder. I find it interesting that he didn't mention the reason for getting a different trades person in to fix the floor issue. The fact their trades came in 3 times and could not fix the job. That is why we got someone else who knew what they were doing to come in and finished the job correctly, Once. I also like the fact they feel like they overpaid for the tradesmen who did the job right the first time. Maybe they should consider paying their trades a little more to get better quality. In fact, now knowing the quality of the house, I WAY OVERPAID for the house I got. Another note, shall we look at facts? Should I pull out the home inspection with all the work to be completed, which they "Guaranteed" the work would be done, well, we know that never happened. Right, the inspector must not know what he's doing. Should we call the inspector and blame him for the inspection not done correctly? Hey, you don't need to take my word for it, what are others saying? Check out google reviews. At the end of the day, I don't expect much from them. Just felt people should be aware of their quality of work, their service (or lack of) so they can make informed decisions. A great builder would take these kinds of reviews as feedback to improve their company procedures to make their company better. However, blaming your very own customers that pay their bills..... interesting strategy. Thank you!
