★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a TERRIBLE experience at this Second Cup. I order a lattee and three ginger cookies however my car ended up having mechanical issues so I wasn't able to arrive until several hours after I placed the order.
When I arrived, I was greeted by this patronizing barista. I explained that my car had broken down ---but instead of empathizing with me-- she interrupted me and said she call the owner and seemed frustrated because she had to throw out my order.
When she got off the call she condescendingly told me that she could not make me a new order since it was $6 to make ... from my understanding the cost is never higher then the price of a product.... She begrudgingly told me that she had to throw out my order and could NOT make me a new one but that she could do me the "favour" of giving me the cookies... that I PAID for. Of course, at this point I was EXTREMELY upset and explained that I had been ordering from THIS Second Cup --on Skip the Dish and Door Dash-- EVERYDAY for the past two weeks. She told me if I didn't relax she wouldn't give me the cookies.
I have never experience such TERRIBLE customer service. I understand that it is hard for businesses because of the pandemic but you should NOT treat LOYAL customers like GARBAGE.
The SAD part is, I have been ordering lattees and cookies from this store but will NO LONGER give my business to a company that treats its customer this way.
Today, I ordered a lattee but decided to give my business to Starbucks since they give GREAT-consistent customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been coming more often, since the new managment. The staff looks happier and they are very kind. The owners are amazing, they are there all the time making you conversation. I think so far has been the best Second Cup in Calgary!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today I went to this second cup around 12:30pm with my two children who are 13 and 11 year old. The lady working alone there who called her self the manager told me my eleven year old needs to show a negative covid result to dine in, when the sign at the front of the door said nothing about children under 12 taking a test, anyway we ordered our drinks and I went to pay I taped my card and the machine said please wait, instead she impatiently disconnected the wire of the debt machine, and told me It didn't go through I asked her to show me something said that the payment didn't go through, but she said its showing me only on my screen she told me to tap again and right away checked my online banking, and it showed that she had charged me twice I went to her and showed her my twice charges on my online statement she didn't even apologize and acted super rude as she gave me the cash back.
Please be careful I'm wondering how many people are getting extra charges like this? I know that I will not return to this second cup and I will further do something about this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a paper on the door saying "temporarily closed". In addition, there is an document on there about the lease agreement that says "notice of termination." Read into that what you will. Oh, and I just saw that someone else posted the same thing about a month ago. I have to say that isn't a good sign (pun intended).
Hopefully, they come back. This location has a nice ambience, and friendly service. I'm concerned for Second Cup's longevity in general, and they have my all-time favourite tea, unfortunately, only available at Christmas time (Holiday Blend).
