I had a 6-night stay. The room is old - first impression was not favourable but on closer inspection the room was SPOTLESSLY clean - the interior is just aged a little. I usually don’t need daily housekeeping service but was surprised the room was not serviced at all during my stay, despite leaving out the β€œplease service my room” sign on Day 4 (is this a COVID thing?) I had mixed experiences with staff. I checked in with Eβ€” who was helpful and efficient. Main issue was that everything feels a bit mercantile. There are signs declaring what the replacement cost / service fees are if you lose the A/C remote or allow dishes to be left out. Every sign has a reason, so I’m sure past experience motivates the signage, but it sure reminded me of the Thenadiers in Les Miserables, who levied β€œ2% for looking in the mirror twice”. The mercantile feel of the stay was exacerbated when I asked to extend my stay for an extra night. I had actually prepaid for the night in question; due to timezone miscalculations, I had thought I needed to check out a day earlier than I had booked for. The front desk staff actually gave me a formal quote for that night, after I explained (wrongly) that I was shortly checking out and needed to extend my stay. They actually said Inhad to move rooms because my room was going to be occupied by another customer - which was me! Communication was frustrating because I kept getting interrupted. Nobody pointed out that I had actually already paid for the night I was β€œextending”. While it was my mistake, I also felt that ordinary due diligence in the customer file would have clarified the situation. In the end, I did not stay for the final night, finding an alternative that was cheaper, fancier, and more central. I am not sure what resolution there has been (if any) because the booking was through an agent and I have left the matter with them for now. Generally, I’m not comfortable with the fact that the staff gave me a formal quote to extend my stay to a night I had already paid for, without at least saying, β€œit looks like you’re still booked in for that night”. I’ll update to say if I got a refund for the final night.

Stayed here a couple of times. Honestly, the best value in town, but you will need to be okay with old, boring rooms, poorly supplied bathrooms and okay beds. Perfect for short stays. 3 stars for the amenities, one extra star for the excellent location and value.

I was impressed once we got into our room. The location is awesome cheap cabs or walking distance of all the entertainment Vancouver has to offer. Prabhu, the front desk agent was very kind and helpful during our stay. Look forward to future bookings for the next adventure!

Terrible Staff. Unprofessional. I suffered because the heat was so blasting in my room. I asked at least 3 times to lower it or turn it off but they didn’t even bother coming to the room. I called and nothing. I slept very poorly and decided to leave early morning as I couldn’t sleep. The check-in was a total joke, with the guy giving me the wrong key and being unpleasant. The worst is having my concerns dismissed. Beside the location and the decent hotel rooms. The rest of service and staff are of lowest quality.

This is definitely a motel, and a horrible one. The staff were incredibly rude throughout the entire stay, and seemed irritated whenever we were near the front desk. What's worse, was all the dried blood, urine, and dirt stains all over the bed and chairs. There were dirt and bugs everywhere. I left with bites all over my legs, and was forced to check out a day early to go to a better hotel. There were also hidden fees everywhere: for housekeeping, washing dishes My advice: please spend the extra money to stay in a clean hotel. The location may be good, but it is hardly worth it.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The rooms and inside was meh. Multiple extra fee to be aware of : Parking $45 , Covid cleaning $10 (floors inside rooms were dusty), Use the stove in the room extra charge, Dishes in sink $15, AC remote $40 . Staff was pleasant , helpful and courteous. Coffee in the room was nice.

We had a wonderful stay at Riviera Hotel. Rooms were very clean and the view was amazing. The best part is the location of the hotel - very convenient. Jaskeerat at the front desk was super helpful and welcoming, deserves a promotion. Thank you Riviera Hotel, we will come back again!

This place is a great value. The rooms are simple but large and the two rooms we stayed in either had a full kitchen or a kitchenette. One had a dining room table that we used as our office. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating(shout out to Prabhu!) Pet friendly, centrally located, grab and go breakfast, great staff, large rooms, great value, the list goes on.
