Upon arrival, we had to wait 25 min to check in, the front desk clerk was extremely slow, and caused us late to be late to the party we came for. Luckily one lady let us check in before her or we would have missed our boat. It took so long to check in that we never made it to our room, we just parked and left our bags in the car. Our party ended late, we arrived back at the hotel by 2am, and realized the room number wasn't on the key card. So we had to go to the front desk again. The room itself was very basic and dated. I did however love the balcony. The bed was advertised as a queen.... it was a double. Too small for my husband and I. I gave up sleeping in the bed quickly and went to the couch, as it was extremely late I didn't make up. the convertible. Couch got very uncomfortable as well and I ended up sleeping on the floor!!!!! We checked out as soon as possible in the morning. We spent a total of 8 hours in the room. Mostly sleep and shower. We got checked out at 9am. I got a call from the front desk at 10:30 same day once we got home saying the housekeeping said we lost the remote to the tv we didn't watch. We never even saw a remote to begin with! I told the clerk that I better not be charged! The only good thing about this place was the manager David. He was extremely polite. He even knew who I was upon our first meet. we will not be coming back here.

Stayed here 8 nights. Apartment was very small and looked a little worse for wear (see photos). We had a door come off the hinge as well and a towel railing come off the wall. Staff was quick to fix it, but the place obviously could do with some TLC. The one-bedroom apartment has a little office which is great when you’re working & traveling. The view from our room on the 11th floor was stunning. We could see across the Harbour to Stanley Park which was covered in snow, with mountains in the distance. Beautiful. Had it not been for the view, I might have been unhappy with this place. The bed is smaller than an Australian queen size. Breakfast is continental and is served downstairs in an area that is usually closed during the day. It includes cereal, bread, pastries, juice, freshly made waffles with what looks like homemade jam, yoghurt, coffee and tea. They recycle plastic and paper in the dining area, which is a plus. The lobby is small and with no other common lounge area, it felt like a serviced apartment rather than a hotel. I only found out on our last day that the dining area is actually accessible during the day, the doors are just shut and no one communicates with guests to come and enjoy that space. There is no business centre. Parking is underground and secure. The staff at the front desk are a bit of a hit and miss. We received friendly service from a gentleman named Tad, who was courteous and friendly. So this review is mixed. If you get an apartment on level 11 or 12 facing the park you’ll have great views. The proximity to downtown and all the West End cafes and restaurants on Denman street and Robson street make this a great place for foodies. Also, there are endless walks in Stanley Park, with beaches even, so you’re in the city, but it doesn’t feel like it. For all the flaws, they were generous in waving our first night’s stay, when we were delayed by weather and arrived from the airport in the wee hours of the morning, exhausted with our little one in tow. That’s a massive plus. Making this an all round 3 star review.

Very unhappy with our stay. Staff not knowledgeable on policies and not accommodating to my concerns. When I checked in I asked to park underground past check out time. I was told anything past 3pm she’d have to charge me, I agreed as I thought it was a good deal. Later that evening when I returned I asked the front desk host to not charge me for parking as I found parking closer to my event for same price. He told me she’s new and didn’t know what she was doing and that I could park until 11pm for free after check out. Now for the room! Very dated and not clean! Housekeeping staff need to pick it up and do a better job, especially since it’s a dated room to begin with. Sink faucets don’t look like they’ve been wiped in weeks. Broken elements on stove. Now for the TV-it’s mounted to the wall and you can’t even watch it from the couch because it doesn’t swivel, what’s the point. Also the cable box is just hanging from the wall. You have to stand there and hold the box to change the channel and you could only change the volume by pressing buttons on the TV. And the icing on this disastrous hotel....the couch. It looks like many people have used it as a napkin. It’s DISGUSTING! I feel dirty sitting on the couch, let alone the fact I had to sleep on the pull out couch. I went to ask if there’s another room and explained we can’t even use the TV as it’s stuck on the wall, his answer “I know”. Who says that!? If you know you should be making changes to your rooms. I was told that only room available to change to had an extra foot of space and was $100 more a night. Not willing to accommodate. I won’t be returning and suggest that if you are thinking of this hotel, DON’T!

This is a great spot for an extended stay style hotel. Great location. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. We required an early check-in and the staff was very helpful in making that happen on short notice. Room had a nice side office where we could setup the crib for our son so he did not have to be in our room.

Pretty good hotel. Rooms are quite good, despite looking a bit dated. They're small 1-bedroom apartments, essentially. Including a kitchen and en suite washer and dryer. Some of the rooms have a really nice view of the mountains and/or lakes, but they cost a bit extra. Might be worth it if you're into that. The hotel is actually also a residential building. I don't fully understand it, but it probably won't affect you. It has a tiny gym with really old basic equipment. No free weights. Also free continental breakfast with a waffle maker. Location-wise, it's right off of Denman, which has a ton of nice restaurants, and very close to Stanley park, which is a really nice place to walk/run. Oh also there's a full grocery store nearby.

I had the pleasure of staying at Lord Stanley for 1 month. It was wonderful. The location is so central yet serene…literally just a couple hundreds meters from Lost Lagoon (and Stanley Park) where you can go for a beautiful walk. Less than a hundred meters in the other direction is foodie central of downtown (Denman street). Public transportation in this area is also good…approximately 50 meters away is a bus stop where 5 different buses come so about every 5-8 minutes you can catch a ride (no long waits here!). If you just walk a couple hundred meters further, you’ll reach English bay (beach). May I also add that the staff here are wonderful. They are what makes this hotel a cozy and welcoming place. Basically I now consider Lord Stanley my second home…and that’s a lot coming from someone who is not an easy customer to please lol. They went above and beyond. Special thank you to Eva (manager), Natasha (housekeeping), and Sai (concierge) I had a magical stay! Thank you so much.
