Been here a few times and it's always a joy to just look through their store. It's always been my go-to if I'm looking to find a video game that has long-since discontinued production. I've always liked having physical copies of my games and although sites like Ebay are an option, there's a certain sense of security that comes with seeing the product in person before buying it, especially if you care about the condition of the game. They certainly do and even lower the price if the game has visible wear. They insure your purchase on the off chance your game doesn't work (Which has thankfully never happened to me yet, but again, it's nice to have that security). Their catalogue isn't just limited to the classics, if you're looking for some older obscure games I doubt you'll ever find a better place in Montreal. They also have new releases and even accessories like Amiibo. It's a One-Stop Shop for all things gaming.

Retro MTL is one of the few places to purchase retro video games, consoles and even parts/accessories. The prices are great and sometimes, you can find some pretty rare gems. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It's a great place to experience, I highly recommend checking this boutique out before shopping online.

THANK YOU. Since moving to Montreal in 2019, I've been looking for a store like this since there were so many where I'm from in Ontario. It was only by chance I mentioned retro games to a friend I was visiting and he mentioned this place. We took a detour to visit and I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Ended up getting a game I've been looking for for years. Service is awesome and friendly. They have games both old and new. I'm so excited to finally find a good games shop in Montreal and I'm so glad it's just a 25 minute walk from me. This place is the best!

Great retro gaming store in Montreal, covering games from most generations in a convenient location, close to subway and buses. Not only mainstream North American consoles and games, but as well Japanese imports and summer exotic systems, such as the Neo Geo Color. Only drawback for the store is that most of the stock is behind the counter, and it's hard to see the titles of you're browsing to see if something catches your attention. One nice touch is that for a Dreamcast Japanese game I ended up buying, they send a boot CD alongside the game, which is nice for newcomers that are starting out a collection of imports. Everything has clear prices, so none is going to try to gauge how much you can pay when you ask for a price. In terms of the actual prices, they're aligned to what you'd see on eBay minus shipping, so fair prices, but nothing extraordinary. Well worth a visit, for both newcomers and seasoned retro games collectors. Bonus: they have a true Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4 player arcade game, which is a nice touch.

Service was average, sélection is decent. Some import and used, would say a good stop for old console missing part and some collectable. But ambiance wise it's below average.

I went there because I wanted to sell the games from previous video game consoles since I don't play them anymore and I wanted to save space from my house. The amount of cash they give to you it's pretty good, even more if you have the full package of the games. Just make sure you send a message to them of what you want to sell so that they know what to expect and to shorten the processes. Outside of selling games, consoles & accessories, you can also buy them. Accessible by walk if you take the Montreal Metro, either Pie-IX or Joliette stations as the place is just a few blocks away.
