★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jay and Emily from Pender Island Kayak Adventures have taken our whole family out several times, including on an exciting channel crossing to Saturna Island. Their care and expertise put me at ease, even though I am a beginner. Our kids love them!
My husband is also taking Paddle Canada Skill Certification through Jay. So great to have such a high class guiding company here on Pender!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had an amazing experience and loved the morning intertidal tour with Jay and Erin. They showed us some safety tips and helped us with the gear. We saw countless baby seals, starfishes, eagles and kingfishers. The landscape is amazing, as you can imagine. I liked that I didn't feel rushed or left behind even though I was the least experienced kayaker. I always felt safe. Hopefully next time I can join for the night tour to see the bioluminescent plankton.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a confirmed and paid reservation for a kayak tour. No one showed up until an hour after it was supposed to start. We were told the tour will not run - they did not seem to be able to do much about it apart from providing a refund. Wasted our morning with waiting and then having to change plans.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a fantastic time on Pender Island over Canada weekend and the highlight of the trip was renting the Party SUP on consecutive days at Port Browning Marina. Jay was very friendly and accommodating and the location was perfect for family SUP fun.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were staying at Port Browning Marina and rented bikes from Jay for a day and the 8-speed 1Xs were a great ride (and I'm a bike commuter, so fussy about my bikes!), even on the hills! Jay is fun and friendly and has great local knowledge & safety tips. Next time we plan on renting kayaks. :o)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked a half day kayaking tour which we were really looking forward to. Less than an hour before our scheduled start, our tour was cancelled due to windy conditions. I am glad they put safety first, but the very short notice cancellation was really disappointing and frustrating as we had made the trip to Pender specifically for this tour. We were offered to rebook the next day on a different tour than the one we wanted, but we were hesitant to make another trip over on the (very early!) ferry only to have it potentially be cancelled without warning again. Three stars because the lady we spoke with was nice and professional, willing to offer an alternative, we were refunded promptly, and it was clear they wanted us to have a good kayaking experience. However, I think the cancellation could’ve been handled better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the four-hour National Parks kayak tour with Jay yesterday. He was so welcoming and easy-going and during the tour he gave us a great understanding of Pender Island and its local goings on and history. We saw stunning wildlife including the Ocker Starfish and crabs. Jay even gave us an instrumental performance with a hand-made bull-kelp horn :)
