This clinic is amazing. All the staff and doctors were so nice and caring and compassionate. Fertility treatment is a stressful and emotionally/physically taxing journey and I feel it is really important to have a good clinic helping you. I have been to other clinics and had horrible experiences. The doctors here are so smart and informative, they never rush you out of an appointment and answer all your questions thoroughly. The nurses are also so caring and kind and really great at their jobs. I mostly dealt with Dr Dunne and Dr. Havlock and they were AMAZING. Often times you will not see your doctor but a different one who is in that day, I have met all of them and they were all wonderful. I just can't say enough good things about how well we were treated here. They helped me get pregnant and I will be forever greatful. I wish I had come to this clinic in the first place instead of wasting 3 years elsewhere. Thank you to everyone at PCRM.

They transferred not fully developed embryo on day 5. My embryo was not even developed enough to assess its grade. They transferred it without saying anything as I had been scheduled for fresh embryo transfer on day 5. After the procedure was done, I did some Google search at home about implantation of slowly developed embryo. Many online information said that when embryo is not fully developed on day 5, it can be frozen, thawed and transferred to properly synchronized uterine environment in a different cycle for better chance. Being panicked, I sent a message to them and got back from someone in charge of their lab. He said that it does not make a big diffeence in implantation. I respect his professional opinion even though there are many other professionals who think otherwise. It has been already 2 years since I got the procedure, but my experience with PCRM still left a bitter taste in my mouth as they did not lay out possible alternatives for me and kept me in dark about pros and cons. If I knew that other options available even for slightly better chance, I would have waited for a different cycle for embryo transfer. As a person on advanced age for pregnancy, I considered it my last IVF try and ended up not being able to choose the best possible option for this costly procedure. Staff were nice and seemed compassionate, but their critical decision was not for patients' best interest as far as I am concerned.

I am deeply irked by the endless journey into everybody's voicemail box. Apparently no one has the time to take any call at all, nor do they willing to call back. Every single request is barred behind a voicemail message, promising emptily to return call asap. This beg the question: is the front desk the only position that is staffed with real people? After days of calling with no prevail, I can't help but wonder, am I too low grade for this clinic? Is it because I'd like to consult with the doctors first instead of jumping in blindfolded with bunch of cash in my hand, the clinic considered me not worthy for their service? Do I need a walkin with silk and diamonds on me to prove my worthiness as a customer, or this kind of infuriating negligence is all I am going to get?

For a recent appointment, I had followed up 3-4 times with the reception wondering why the doctor has not yet called. They even asked me for my number to double check and confirm that the doctor has not yet called and asked me to just wait patiently. 1.5 hours later, after already having missed other appointments while waiting for this, reception finally got tired of me and transferred me to the doctor's personal assistant who said they've been trying to contact me for a long time too. However I got no missed calls and no voicemail and I was in a place with good reception. They could not provide me with an earlier appointment, and did not apologize at all. The lack of respect for the patient's time is astonishing. Please train your receptionists better as this is often the first touchpoint with clients. A good experience is built on mutual trust and respect which I did not sense during this last interaction.

All of the doctors and staff are amazing! They are so patient and kind. Charmaine, nurse at Burnaby, is hilarious and helped me to feel at ease with her awesome sense of humour. Really hope PCRM expands to allows retrievals and fresh transfers in Victoria at some point.

One size fits all approach, which resulted in me cancelling IVF mid-cycle because compromise was not considered, additional treatments weren't explored. This was despite I told the staff of my care conditions. Was also the most excruciating ultrasound appointment I ever endured. Saw spots, tried not to scream, almost blacked out. I didn't feel safe continuing. I was a patient type they didn't know how to deal with and they never apologized for the negligent care. Many additional failings surrounding appointment bookings, delays, their narrow-minded recommendations to use only one Life Labs clinic (which still botched the lab work), website is slow and inefficient, mess ups on troves of paperwork. $2000 for admin fees + $2000ish for courier just to transfer only his gametes. They really don't listen. We're working with Americans for the surrogacy. PCRM failed to do FDA health screens, so why would we pay such an amount when we have to fly him down and do this portion for cheaper? I personally think anyone who rates this place 5 stars are the same people who would sell their soul for a baby and tell the devil he did a good job. Going through the American clinic for our egg donor/surrogacy portion, and already they're superior for scheduling, communication, promptness, etc. There isn't enough competition in the Canadian market to improve the quality of what is available. I'd have avoided this place if I had a choice, but the Americans were clear that my safety was priority, so had to do this in Canada and at least the hospital (RCH) did their part well when this process turned south. Not PCRM.
