A	Adrienne Van Veggel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My son and I recently adopted a kitten from the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. The whole process was smooth. I also feel very reassured that they really care about the animals. We initially went in looking for an older cat but during our visit my son locked eyes with this adorable kitten. The staff was great about letting us stay as long as we wanted and even took the kitten into a viewing room where we could spend some time with him. Once we made our decision, they took a short period of time to ensure we would make good pet owners. And when we went to pick up our new kitten, Haley took the time to give us some tips for helping the kitten to adjust to our home. Here are some photos of a very well-adjusted "Oscar".

J	Jenna Galea on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i adopted Nym, a beautiful 4 year old cat, from the oakville milton humane society. The staff was absolutely incredible throughout the entire process. I expected adopting during covid to be difficult but the staff made sure everything was perfect and safe. I was weary about adopting my first cat without getting to meet them first but the staff ensured that we would be a great fit by asking me lots of questions and giving me plenty of details about her personality. Even after the adoption went through, the staff was quick to answer any questions I had and even followed up about how Nym and i were getting along, the answer is great by the way. Nym is my best friend, i couldnt ask for a better companion and it is all thanks to the hard work of OMHS! I would recommend anyone adopt from here but especially first time adopter.

They didn’t let me adopt a cat because I’ve stated I occasionally take my cat on a leash supervised outside in my backyard that is completely fenced. This doesn’t align with their philosophy. I work in cancer care. I take excellent care of people and animals. I am an honest and compassionate person… Their philosophies are absurd and give you no chance to discuss further. Bottom line, just lie to them. Forget honesty.
J	Jennifer Copeland on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I witnessed a squirrel get hit by a car in front of my house twice, and it was still alive. As an animal lover, it was so disturbing to see and I was in tears. I called the Oakville & Milton Humane Society and the woman on the phone was incredibly sweet to me. I let her know the situation, and she quickly sent someone out to come pick the squirrel up. They came in about 10 minutes. I was shocked that they were able to show up in such a short period of time, and they gently took the squirrel away. With such a sad event, I am so happy with how quick Oakville & Milton Humane Society was able to help with the situation. Thank you so so much.

They were so kind and considerate of my feeling during this stressful time. They made sure to walk me through all the tips and tricks to help locate him and emailed me with all the information to use as a guide. I ended up finding my baby and when I called to let them know they were genuinely happy to find out he was safe. I am truly thankful for all the support and help they gave me. I don’t have enough good words to say about them. Thank you again!

As a first time adopter, I appreciated the prompt response and interview processes to make sure they are a good match for me. I also appreciated the info that was given to me and the extra supplies that came with them. Very efficient process and great follow up! Here is Norman & Gilbert in their happy new home.
