We adopted Ellie (previously Matilda) on January 21st when she was only 12 weeks old. Ellie had been found on a high level of an apartment building after she was pushed out of someone’s door. When she was rescued they found her ill and put her on antibiotics for a couple of weeks before she was able to be adopted. Because of this shelter my boyfriend and I were able to complete our little furry family. Ellie and Gus are inseparable. The staff were also very helpful and kind to the animals. I would highly recommend adopting a pet from this shelter.

Government Scam Artists To pick up a dead corpse of an animal it costs 80$ off a private property (two steps off the sidewalk), you know so kids and other pets/animals won't eat it. UNLESS you do it yourself and they come pick it up for free . What in the ...............

We adopted our little girl Sunny from Mississauga Animal Services. They were quick and efficient with the adoption process, and gave me as much time as I needed to spend with Sunny before adopting her. The facilities are clean and all the animals are well cared for. They seemed to know each any every animal and its personality to ensure a right fit as well. I recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt a new family member!

I had a cat constantly sneaking into my house, scaring my dog and generally just wouldn't leave. It looked like a pet that had ran away, as it was clean and trimmed, so I brought it here. They basically treated me like I was abandoning my cat, refusing to believe I had found it on my property. I also saw this on another visit to get my dogs license. Someone brought in a stray dog. They started to make accusations and the person didn't like it, and just left, and at that point the staff chased them out to the parking lot to get their plate number. Seriously, some people just want to see animals get back to their homes. Would they rather be called to clean up a runaway dog that was hit by a car?

My mother came last week to adopt a cat and had arranged to adopt her the next week since she needed to arrange her apartment to accommodate the kitty. She had filled out paperwork to bring her home, once she was ready to pick her up the cat was taken by someone else. It's left her heartbroken as she felt she had a true connection with the cat. Her name was Ella. We hope she has a happy home but are upset about the lack of communication between staff and the lack of organization that led to this moment. Heaven forbid someone has to take a few days to make their home acco.mmodating for their new animal companion

when i first started as a foster parent for MHS they had a different president who was lovely. They have CHANGED PRESIDENTS and the new president is terrible. I have fostered 3 cats for MHS over 8 years. Last week I had to go to put down one of the foster cats I’ve had for 7 years. Al refused to pay because he claims the cats and I were never registered as fosters with MHS. i don’t understand how this makes sense when they have been covering vet costs for me for EIGHT years. he was very rude and dismissive which I thought was terribly disgusting, considering the circumstances. He claims he was only paying for vet bills in the past because of β€œcompassion”…. my cats were sick and VERY expensive. it does not add up. really recommend you avoid the problems with this place.

Very urgent response I liked their services. A week ago a wild bird was in distress as its leg was injured we call MAS and we couldn’t believe that response was so quick. Finally rescue services saved a-little bird. Thank you so much Mississauga animal services we are so proud of you.

We came across MAS after searching long and hard and being turn down by so many shelters for so many reasons plus the fact that the world just got out of a pandemic doesn’t make the adoption process at other shelters better because of social distancing (you cannot meet the pet in person). That was not the case with MAS. - The facilities are clean and the animals are well taken care of. - As soon as you book an appointment the posting will be taken down to make sure that the animal is reserved for you and you only. They will allow you to spend 1 hour with the animal and fill in the adoption paper after if you’re ready. - The ladies who work there are so patient and have a great understanding of each animal’s temperament and will advise you really throughout when it comes to the final decision. They really do have the animals best interests at heart. In my case, i came for one cat but then i wasn’t sure if i could take another one home too. And they explain to me very throughout why it wouldnt be the best for either of them to stay together under the same roof. They also encourage me to take time to think about it and β€œnever adopt out of guilt”. I have so much respect for them for saying that. Attached are some pictures of Ross (now Dave) 3 weeks after we brought him home. He is such an amazing cat and bring us so much joy. I would like to thank the staffs for doing what they are doing and being such amazing protector and advocate. From Ross and Harper :)
