It's sad to see how Noodlebox declined, once they became a franchise. I gave them many chances but the food is too frequently, awful now. I don't recommend them anymore. The cooks are too often, trainees. They don't hire experienced cooks - they hire young guys who seem to not know anything about cooking. I used to love Noodlebox. I finally gave up. Also, a manager offered me compensation of two meals on credit. The credit was supposed to be kept for me at the cash. When I called to redeem it, they didn't have the credit. They were supposed to call me, but never did so. Bad customer service! They just don't seem to care - at all. I think they have problems with incompetence and not caring.

DISAPPOINTING They make food here like they hate making food. Had the Pad Thai and they made it tangy with no peanut flavour at all and no spice, the noodles in all the boxes were overcooked and sticked together like glue. Totally inedible.

The atmosphere is really nice here and the cashiers are super friendly. Location is convenient by the bus stop at Douglas and Saanich. I got take out and ordered the teriyaki box with char siu and medium spice. I didn't particularly like the combo of Hokkien(??) Noodles with teriyaki sauce personally. However is was piping hot and used freah ingredients so that is a plus! Portion size is decent and can probably feed two. There are endless combinations too choose so next time I'll try something else. I didn't have to wait long. I'll come back when I pass by again!

I asked for my meal to be made as gluten friendly as possible as I am celiac but it seemed to annoy the front of house staff that was very rude to me as I tried to adjust my meal to be gluten free. Before I even got my food I heard her talking about me to the kitchen staff and making fun of me. Once I got my food it was fine, the veggies were under cooked but there were was a mixture of ribbon noodles and rice which I can’t have. I didn’t think much of it so I stopped eating so I don’t get sick. I really wish people would take celiac disease a little more seriously because it might be a little bit inconvenient for the kitchen staff but I’m the one who has to deal with the nausea and pain afterwords.

I really wanted to like this place but it gave me every reason not to. The girl in the front was smiling and friendly but kept joking with the kitchen staff while trying to take my order. The food smells great but that was it. The sirloin beef is very tough and everything was very salty. I came around 4 o’clock. I was the only customer eating in but most tables were dirty.

We ordered from Noodle Box on Mother's Day. This location was crazy busy, and it took a little longer than expected. But, given the numbers of people ordering, and the labor shortage in Victoria, the staff did amazingly well. I would not want this job. They are some very hard working folk, who managed to perfectly make our order of 10 dishes, nothing was forgotten. It was delicious!

All good things must come to an end. For fifteen years I’ve been eating Noodlebox. It’s been my absolute favourite take-out. I make it a point of not leaving bad reviews, but instead simply just take my business elsewhere. It’s tough enough running a business without some jerk who had a bad day giving you one star. But honestly, I can’t leave this be. This is not the Noodlebox of years past. Since changing hands 5+ years ago, the attention to quality and the flavour profiles that made NB amazing… well, it’s gotten progressively worse to the point where this will be the last time I bother. How do you burn Mac and cheese?!?! My kid won’t eat it, and neither would I. If it weren’t delivered by DoorDash, I would have sent it back. Thai style Chow Mein was not the chow mein noodles that it normally had, nor like the other chow mein box we got. Instead, it was overcooked ramen style noodles. Overcooked veggies. Tiny nibblets of chicken. So absolutely disappointing. So sad.
