I was with team 2, Julia and Nicole were amazing very informative. The 3rd midwife of course was the one who ended up delivering my son in December..she was not informative, questions I asked her were totally wrong. After delivering my son, she left the hospital to go home for the night without coming in and asking if we needed anything OR letting us know she was going. We were not checked on all night and waited a lot time the next day for her to come discharge us after a Nurse called her wondering why she hadn’t showed up yet. I almost missed out on a very important doctors appointment for my son after asking and her telling me she was taking care of it. I finally took it into my own hands and called about 5 different places because everything was fully booked by the time I called myself. She came to our house during Covid to do a check up on my son and did not wash her hands, did not use hand sanitizer and did not wear gloves. And the best part is...she didn’t give my son a health card number at the hospital. I had to drive back to the midwives office to get one from Nicole. And because of that I got an $860 bill from The hospital because my son didn’t have a health card...and another $820 bill because she didn’t properly send in my healthcare information. I have called the office to talk to her about this and I have not been contacted. A very poor experience for my first baby with Crystalynn.

I went with new life midwives initially.. my first appointment was at 10 weeks.. everything seemed okay at first.. then when I had my 20 week ultrasound I found out that one of my baby’s kidneys was slightly dilated and that I was supposed to have a repeat ultrasound at 26 weeks.. when I was 25 weeks I had severe back pain- so I went to emerg for an ultrasound (they told me I could go home and they would call me if there was any issues with the US).. This was a Saturday .. on the Monday, one of my team members called me saying my baby’s kidney was double in size now- and it was cause for concern. I was confused and wondered why I was getting this info when I had not yet gone for my 26 week ultrasound and that the hospital would have called me if there was a concern.. (easy mistake to make; however..: when I am a patient I expect accurate information in relation to my health status and my baby’s!) she stated to me that “I didn’t have a complete report and it was written weird.. but I have to give you the details because when I have a report in my mailbox I have to call the patient” I said well wouldn’t you contact the hospital and OB that completed my scan to obtain the proper information rather than giving me information that is not accurate? I also asked if the report stated patient or fetus.. she stated “it actually doesn’t say”.. I stated to her if my report was unclear.. that should be the first step(contacting the OB). She stated it would take her 3 weeks to obtain the proper information. At that point I was done with them. They were also upset I asked for any info to be transferred to my family doctor prior to this which they had an issue with… at that point I decided I wanted to go with an OB.. I did not feel that the midwives were competent and at that point worried about delivery.. she transferred my reports to Dr Awad in cobourg who was AMAZING.. anyway, when she gave me a hard time about contacting the OB at emerg.. I told her I would call, and it took me about 5 minutes.. the report was in fact about my kidney (which was normal for me) NOT my baby’s .. I am really happy that I left them at 25 weeks- I would have had so much anxiety if they delivered my baby.

I had a very upsetting experience with New Life Midwives. I had been turned down by another midwife center for my weight and pre-diabetic status, so I applied to New Life Midwives without much hope that I would be accepted. I received a call soon after stating that they were going to take me on as a client, fully aware of medical status and rejection from another midwife center. For over a month, I was so excited that I had this part of my pregnancy taken care of. I received my appointment confirmation email on the Monday before my early Wednesday morning appointment. I received a call on Tuesday morning (the day before my appointment), informing me that they won't be able to take me on as a client due to my pre-diabetes, a fact they had full knowledge of more than a month prior to this phone call, the fact that seemingly nothing was done with my file for a month and then at the last minute was actually evaluated is unacceptable in my opinion, especially considering I had expressed concern regarding my previous rejection for the same reason.

Beyond happy with our experience! All the midwives we worked with were super nice, knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend it to any other first time mum as well. After months in their care, the team started to feel like family <3

New Life provided excellent care for me through a pregnancy loss and a subsequent home birth and were incredibly supportive and caring. I never felt rushed or dismissed and all team members took time to address concerns in a meaningful way and follow up as needed. They took wonderful care of myself and my baby, not only in regards to physical health but mental and emotional health were top priority as well. They were exceptionally accommodating to all of our requests and concerns, and took time to explain all aspects of care to allow us to make an informed choice. I can’t say enough good things about this knowledgeable and kind team; I highly recommend this practice for excellent prenatal, birth, and postnatal care. Providers: Kory, Zoe, Andrea, Lindsay, and Paige

I have nothing but praise for Team 4 at New Life Midwives. Andrea, Kory, Zoe and Lindsay provided excellent care to myself and my baby through out my pregnancy, during birth at Coburg hospital, and at postpartum check ups. I know they are busy, but my appointments never felt rushed and, as a first time mom, I appreciated all the reassurance and support they provided.

If you are searching for a midwife clinic, look no further because you won’t find any better. I had the privilege of experiencing pregnancy, birth and postpartum care with team four. I connected well with all three midwives plus Lindsay who was a rockstar student midwife. My birth did not go at all how I had hoped it would, but ended up being even better. Zoe and Lindsay made my birth a truly amazing experience. I cannot wait to have my future babies with them! They seriously rock!!

I’ve had the best experience with New Life Midwives. I was paired with Team 1 and everyone has been absolutely wonderful. From first meeting them to birthing our baby boy and bringing him home, I couldn’t be happier - especially with Taryn and Shelly who were there on our special day and visited us for aftercare. Thank you for being apart of these special memories and making them even better.
