Absolutely loved the small restaurant vibe, sushi was phenomenal and some of the best salmon I have had in a while would definitely recommend going for dinner with a date here

I have never made a review, usually I give restaurants benefit of the doubt when something happens. Its normal. BUT, i had to come on google and make this review. This place may have some of the worst servers and staff I have ever experienced in my life. And I eat out allot. I don’t even know where to start. I had to wave the staff down everytime i wanted something or even to order. We sat ourselves and then had to wave over someone to order our food. We literally at two points had to yell to get someone’s attention, worst dine in experience ever. NOW for the best part. Today i felt like ordering again from them but this time pickup order. I called twice, finally someone answered. I asked them if they had any package deals to order. He simply told me to just go to skip the dishes to order…. Im like ok…. So i wen to skip the dishes and they are not even on skip the dishes unless they are using a different name Nara sushi is nowhere to be found… so i called back, twice again and the third time someone picked up and then hung up….So there you go first review. This place is TERRIBLE.

This morning we placed an order via the phone for about $80 worth of food. Arrived and told them the phone number of our order, paid, and was handed a bag and left (11:55 am). Once I got back to the office we realized it was the incorrect order (Had already taken some of the food out and eaten a few wontons before noticing) Called the store (12:15 pm) and was told to bring back the bag to exchange for ours. No problem. I was about 5 minutes away and the restaurant calls us back asking how long until the food is returned. We reminded them that we had already opened some of it. When I arrive to return the food (it happened to be a skip the dishes order) The skip the Dishes delivery driver is waiting at the entrance, along with a staff member. They then take the bag back from me, and I remind them again that we had opened the bag and eaten some of the food. He does not seem concerned, so I turn to the skip the dishes driver and tell them that we had opened the order and they should be remaking it. I was then handed a $5 off coupon and sent on my way. I really hope that the skip order had been remade, but it didn't seem that way as he was waiting for me to return with the food. I had the order with me for approximately 40 minutes before getting back to the restaurant.

We were so disappointed tonight with our meal at Nara. We went to celebrate mother's day (a few days late) with our family (party of 6). We have eaten here numerous times before and have loved it. Unfortunately this time that was not the case. The food quality has definitely gone downhill. The meat was all tough, they brought us 4 times as much food as we ordered in many of the items we ordered. The salmon was "slimey", the shrimp rolls were soggy in the middle, the pieces of sushi were really full of rice and not much actual fish or filling. They e increased the prices significantly but the food quality has gone down. We won't be returning. There is a lot of competition for sushi in the KW area this meal did not measure up.

Sushi was good but the general Tso’s chicken 0 stars, not crispy, barely any sauce which didn’t taste good either, and there was hot sauce in it, I’m very disappointed as I couldn’t eat it because of the spice

Service is alright. The server will go MIA randomly especially if your with a group of big eaters. However the food is absolutely awesome. My friends and I always enjoy our meals and everything is well made. Go here for the food not the atmosphere

Took someone here for our first date. I am a sushi fan and have been to many different all you can eat sushi restaurants. I've read the reviews and wanted to give Nara Sushi a try. From the beginning it was an awful experience I would not recommend. The green tea was served just a bit hotter than room temperature. The miso soup tasted watered down. The deep fried items were undercooked and had lots of batter. The sashimi were cut very thick. The sushi rolls were bland/flavourless and were mostly fillers. We ended the night quickly and asked for containers so we didn't waste the food. We have expressed that we didn't enjoy our experience and asked for our bill for the meal but ended up being charged full price for all you can eat anyway. If you're looking for a new sushi spot to get your fix... sadly this isn't it.

It took me a long time to try this restaurant because of the reviews on Google maps. During the pandemic, I tried it as takeout and it became my go-to sushi place. It is not a traditional Japanese restaurant, but it's a great Western Japonese restaurant. Sushi is well prepared and staff is always nice and friendly - at least for takeout order. I ordered sashimi a few times and it was good and fresh. I usually order the Maki for 3 (picture 1) or Maki for 4 (picture 2).
