A small location that offers solid sushi with great ambience and presentation. Another great place to take your date or partner if they like sushi. It's a bit on the pricey side and finding parking might suck since it's located in Uptown Waterloo.

Ate here for the first time ever on my birthday, and I definitely have to say it is the best sushi spot in Kitchener-Waterloo. They are very kind and have excellent service. Hands down, my go to spot if I'm ever craving sushi.

One of the best Al a carte sushi I've had in Kitchener Waterloo. We ordered takoyaki, karaage, rice paper roll, hon maguro carpaccio, nigiri set, snow white cocktail, and pink yuzu soda. The takoyaki was standard nothing crazy. The chicken karaage was super crispy, had a nice seasoning but no sauce came with it unfortunately. Rice paper roll came in 4, it was soft when you try to grab it but it's held well, very delicious and savory. Hon maguro carpaccio was on the pricey side. The pro to this dish was that it had. A nice citrus sauce that had a small touch of wasabi spice. The fish itself was a slight seared bluefin. The com was that the sauce kinda overpowers the fish that you can't really taste it unless you wipe off the sauce other than that it's yummy. Nigiri set is also on the pricey side. It comes with 8 piece of chef's selection and 4 piece of tuna toro maki. I'm not 100% sure what each one was but from my guess they were, squid, red tai, red tuna, scallop, otaro, fatty salmon, seared white tuna, and regular white tuna. Some of the pieces has wasabi on top of the rice so beware if you're not good with it. The Snowwhite cocktail was like a alcoholic float, very sweet and it looks nice. Pink yuzu soda is like a pink lemonade but more on the sour side, it's a nice refresher and cleanser for the palate. That's all for my review and I hope this helps you out!

Fantastic little restaurant in the downtown. The food was quite good, well prepared but possibly a little underseasoned. Service was spot on. For anyone looking for a change from the usual cookie-cutter restaurant or pub fare, try Watami Sushi.

I've been an ongoing patron of Watami both at their original location and their new location across the street. Their service and the quality of food has always been consistent and always been enjoyable! My favourites include: the buta shioyaki, nigiri set, as well as the fish bowl.

I wish I could rate this higher. I attended on a Thursday afternoon. The service by Yoko was amazing. I tried nearly everything, and the foie gras was an electric experience. Phenomenal. Everything else was fantastic as well, there wasn't really anything that I didn't love Yes it was expensive. I drove 2 hours round trip to just eat here, and paid the bill - very very worth it. Cannot wait to come back

Creative, beautiful, and delicious maki in a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant is a great date night destination and our server was friendly and helpful when choosing what to eat. There is a bit of a wait for your food, but that is to be expected when it is fresh and well prepared. We will be back!

Hands up best sushi restaurant in the Waterloo Region. We love Ken's but the quality and ambience here cannot be beaten. Price wise, it is on the upper end, $50 for 20 price of sashimi-- but it was worth it. Great tea quality and the pork belly is so thick and well seasoned. Don't let it sit for too long though, it will dry out as it continues to cook on the stand it is presented on. Benn craving it ever since I visited and left. Perfect place for a date, or if you just want to sit down with a book and enjoy some Japanese food in peace.
