★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My air conditioner was not working when I got here to the cottage and the temperature was 27C inside! I called Muskoka Mechanical and they said they were in the area. They came within hours and had the A/C to working quickly. I really appreciated their service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I talked a guy visiting my cottage, he promised to give me quote for installing central furnace, but never get reply, in next three weeks I called company at least 3 times, eventually I realized they do not do this project, but I do not understand why tell me not directly, doing business like this way it does not making any sense. So I strongly suggest to stay away from this company, DO NOT waste your time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I call them to ONLY look at my floor heating. They go out of their way to look at my furnace which was not on the original work order. I believe that the technicians are instructed to see if there is other work they can source while they are on site without the home owners consent. The furnace was working and causing me and my family no issues. They call me and say along with the issue regarding your floor, we have found that your furnace is old and may need replacing. I know that their quotes are always much higher than the industry. For the first time since I have dealt with them, I told them I am looking at other quotes and getting different opinions to see if what they are telling me is correct. Keep in mind that I have already spent over $20,000 with this company over the years. As we know it takes time to source quotes and get opinions. Today I get an email stating that if I do not approve their quote that they will call the propane company to turn the propane off to the entire house. This unethical behaviour needs to stop. The best way to stop strong arm sales tactics like this is to not use their service. Buyer beware. Below is the email I received.

We have successfully repaired the in-floor heating and need to remind you that the issue with the furnace we told you needed replacing still needs to be addressed. I believe we have 15 days remaining until we need to notify the propane company of the situation since we deem the furnace as being at “end of life”.
Let me know if you are working towards the new furnace.

At 2:30 pm my appointment was cancelled, as the technician felt it would 'take too long' to complete the annual cleaning of my furnace. I explained I had taken time off work and requested a weekend time for the re-schedule but was told I would have to pay extra, even though they were the ones cancelling & changing the appointment. I definitely would not recommend this company. Who knows if they’ll show up!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I called for service, its a holiday so i was told i could get emergency service but she was unable to tell me the rate. She also said she couldnt schedule me in for regular service if i waited and used the woodstove in the meantime. Very uninformed telephone reps. Not impressed with this as i have to keep turning the furnace off and on to keep it working. I would have paid the emergency overtime fees but i like to be informed before i make a decision and they were unable to do that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would not recommend that you use this company if you have a geothermal heat pump. I called them because an error message (E4) kept coming up when the system called for heat, shutting down the furnace. Technicians were sent out four times (at significant cost) but could not solution the problem. My local plumber was there and he immediately noticed that water was coming to the unit, but not being circulated and discharged. This caused the coils to freeze. Turns it was a clogged water filter. He cleaned the filter, called for AC to introduce water into the unit, then turned the heat back on. The system now works perfectly. It's unbelievable that Muskoka Mechanical, who calls themselves experts in this area, could not see this. It was a simple fix. One technician said he never saw a filter there. Every system has one. I asked for some money back, but they flatly refused.
