G & G Plumbing & Heating (2000) Ltd - Red Deer

My name is Joseph, I was employed with G&G. I'm going to make people aware of some facts about G&G plumbing and heating. Multiple times my health benefits were cancelled by someone employed with said company simply because they decided they didn't like me. I have a large family of six to support. One child with a serious medical illness whom needs constant care, which is why I accepted the job OFFERED to me by G&G....the benefits were great....if no body gets a hate on for you. For the months that my benefits were cancelled money was still coming off my pay cheques for those benefits. Where did the money go if not to the place that it was suppose to? This is fraudulent activity and has been reported to the RCMP. Did you know that they, not unlike many other trades, make their employees sign away their overtime? Just a word to the wise, NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU SIGN AWAY LABOUR LAWS!!! All you have to do is go to labour standards and you will get every cent of overtime you've worked for! However, make sure you save ALL of your paystubs like we did. They can throw their handy-dandy little book of policies they have tucked away focusing partly on their zero tolerence of drug and alcohol use but I have been privy many times to them annialating their own policies on alcohol use during and after work in the shop. Specifically the policy, on the use, possession, sale or distribution of alcohol or illicit drugs on company projects or property. Apparently violation of these prohibitions will result in disciplinary actions. Actions include immediate dismissal. I have witnessed many times the owner distributing alcohol to his employees. I have witnessed the owners brother in possession and distributing marijuana. Amongst all of this, my nephew was dealt drugs, by an employee, with in said shop. Drugs which he od'ed on and took him to a trip to the ER, and a lengthy stay in the hospital. When this was brought to the owners attention, he found it quite amusing, no one lost their jobs as ANY of this was taking place. So in short, most of the plumbers that I worked with at G&G were pretty good plumbers. Easy to get a long with and great with PR. The issue I have with G&G Plumbing is the owner and the bunk policies. They'd have you believe that they should be held in high esteem when really their moral compass seems to be slightly askew lacking any sort values or honor. If this is the type of company you'd like support, by all means...they'll get you're plumbing done.

Received good service today from Shawn. Service Rinnai Hot water heater, checking all possible parameters. Great job of customer education with service call. Prompt service too. Tech here 1 hour after calling shop.

We had G&G Plumbing install the heat and hot water system in our cabin. We had some trouble with our tank less water unit and after a number of calls they replaced the unit, no questions asked. They came out late at night during a few of the calls without hesitation and we very professional. Jim Wickson

When you are mad it might not be a good time to write a review but... For plumbing issues with underfloor heat I've called G&G Plumbing a couple times. At first the issues were solved promptly and well. The trouble started when I called them to do a flush on the underfloor heating system of a new place I had moved to. I needed to call them back several times for new issues that occurred after they left and were apparently "unrelated". I later found out from Bruin's Plumbing and Heating that not all underfloor heating systems require flushing including the one I paid over $200 for. If you want to avoid complications go elsewhere, you may pay more but in the end you may pay less.

After many attempts to fix our Rinnai water heater (eventually we determined that we needed to replace it), I contacted Greg to have him come to our house and quote us on a new one. After waiting for two days and receiving no call back, I called Greg again and he said that he was too busy and unable to let me know when he could make the time. I let him know that I was displeased with the service and he said that I should just deal with someone else. (his exact words were "that's just the way the world works").

I have been employed by G & G Plumbing and Heating since last fall and I must say it is the best company I have ever worked for. Tyler and his family treat his employees like family. When I was hired I was expecting my life as a full-time working single mother to be one of the most difficult things to go though, but because this company treats its employees so well I have found the working mom life to be amazing. If my daughter is ever sick I am able to take time off to be with her without feeling guilty. Having my overtime hours banked makes me feel secure that if something did come up where I needed them I have access to them. And because of the health benefits I have never had to struggle to get anything my daughter needs. As with all health plans there is a limit on the health benefits of how much you can spend a year on certain things. And I understand that if I went over that limit I would still have to pay into the benefits even though one particular thing has been suspended until the next calendar year. (cant pay $80.00 a month for something your charging $10,000 to in a year!) Another option I love about the benefits is that if for some reason I lost my job I have the option to pay into it for up to six months. So even when I go to school I still have coverage from my health benefits! Tyler and his family know the right way to treat employees to keep them part of the G & G family and working as hard as they are to only do good quality work. I am being trained to be a plumber and gas fitter and I wouldn't want to do it for any other company. If you want a company that doesn't treat its employees or customers as a number G & G is the way to go. I am very happy to be working for a family owned company! Where else could I work where I can have a free BBQ meal off our Custom BBQ trailers while my daughter plays with all the other employees kids in a bouncy castle after work!?!?

My family recently built our new "dream" home, and G&G was there from the start, right till the end. Everything went seamless. At the office, everyone there was amazing assisting us in choosing fixtures, sinks, tubs, etc. This company is very knowledgeable and are definitely pro's at what they do. Throughout the build, I would meet different plumbers, sheet metal workers, etc and I must say each one of them were very friendly and would answer any questions I had. You could tell they cared about the work they did. Tyler and Kris and all the staff were amazing. We are absolutely thrilled with the work they did, and would not go anywhere else in the future. They stand behind there work, and have even followed up to make sure we were happy with everything. You can't say that about most companies these days. This is most definitely a FIVE STAR company and their experience shows in both the workmanship and customer service end of things. Amazing people...amazing business...hands down the best choice in Central Alberta. These guys really go the extra mile. Thanks again to everyone from G&G for assisting us in building our dream home.

Had Shawn from G&G Plumbing come by today to check out a leak. He was friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable , walking me through the process of what he was looking for, what he found and the way he was going to fix it. He found the problem quickly, and made sure to test his repair after he was done to make sure it was fully fixed. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company for your plumbing/heating needs.
