The team led by Gary is extremely professional, knowledgeable and works patiently yet expeditiously with clients to identify your needs and select the right glasses for you. For the past 15 years we have been using Modern Optical on the Danforth for our family’s eyeglass needs. I've been having trouble finding the frames that fit my face, therefore I wore contacts 24/7. So, a good friend of mine recommended me to Jamee at M.O., and the service was excellent. Not only did she find me an excellent pair of glasses, it was really a family feel and very friendly approach. Funny enough, the pair that I bought there, I`m wearing more often now at work than my contacts! I really love them and so do others. You honestly can't go wrong here.

Modern Optical is a true hidden gem, the best optician and optical store in Yonge and Eglinton area. Jamee is very efficient, very knowledgeable, super friendly, and extremely helpful. My relationship with the optical shop started during the early months of Covid when we were told to stay home. I had issues with my glasses to the effect that it caused me migraine for weeks. It was very hard to find someone to help me fix my glasses especially when you are not a customer nor do not have an appointment. Unlike others around who would not be willing to help if you are not a customer and will charge ridiculous fees, until I found this optical in a small entrance at the corner of Yonge and Eglinton. I wasn’t a customer at that time, I walk-in without appointment and yet Jamee welcomed me openly and was willing to help fix my glasses without me explaining further. I’d thought that I would be put aside. I instantly felt Jamee’s sincerity and willingness to help. Jamee adjusted the nose pads, frames, bridge and tightened up the hinges in just 5 miins. I was back in perfect vision and in a coupe of days, migraines were gone. Not only I felt at home with the people, I also felt very safe at their Covid protocols. They all ensure your safety from the moment you walk in the door. Hand sanitizers are strategically distributed around the shop, strict social distancing were followed. They have strict procedures to glasses that has been tried by customer. Because of the very positive first impression of the shop, the class and care from the owners I recently decided to come back for eye check up and get new pair of glasses. Then I met Cathy, another super friendly girl, Now I have both Jamee and Cathy helping me find the right frames according to my preference They are both very efficient and knowledgeable on the right frames that would suit the shape of your face. Product wise, they have a wide variety of stylish, modern frames and yet reasonably priced. I fello at home spending time looking for the right frames, I never feel rushed. Special mention also to Dr. Levman. He was very rigid in eye check-up and makes you feel relaxed, gives you his undivided attention. The doctor and owners in this shop are simply wonderful characters. They provide exceptional client service with class and care. Make sure you do not miss them, They are located in a small entrance between McDonald’s and Sushi Mori. Cheers!

Have used Modern optical now for 6 years, each time great service. I start with the eye exam with the licensed doctor at store, very good, explains everything in detail. After my exam, comes the hard part of picking you new glasses, but the staff are very knowledge and will help you get the exact pair(s) you are looking for. Excellent service from all the staff at the store.

Amazing customer service from Jamee at the Eglinton location. On Jamee's recommendation, I had regular sunglass lens turned into prescription. Every part of the experience exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend! Outstanding customer service!!!!

My experience shopping at Modern Optical was pleasant and seamless. I telephoned to find out how I could purchase a pair of gorgeous Chanel sunglasses, one pair was left; the challenge was how would I get them since I am living hours away from the store and would not be able to get to Toronto anytime soon. I expressed this to Jamee who volunteered to mail them to me. The processes of getting this done was effortless on Jamee and Cathy’s part so much that I asked about getting a second pair , to which Jamee offered to order them directly from Chanel for me. They arrived in the mail a little over a week later, just in time for the longer daylights. Due to the wonderful experience I feel that I have developed a relationship with these ladies, as a result, going forward, I will always purchase everything eyewear form Modern Optical. Came to have my frames adjusted And what can I say? Issues: -The person in there wasn't friendly. I came without a mask, and asked at the door if masks were required, to which she replied 'yes'. Then I asked to borrow a mask (which I asked to pay at the end, but I am not sure if she included the mask in the final price), however, from this moment on the interaction was pretty cold. -Made little effort to try to guide me through what could be done or expected -Was a bit short in her responses -Told my frames could break and made no attempt to provide solutions or alternatives. She never hinted that she would try her best to work slowly. Without my glasses I am almost blind. Please, do not behave like 'whatever' if you break something more valuable than money for me. I do need to see. -It came back, adjusted, which I am thankful for, it's not perfect but I understand that everything has its limitations, as she pointed out there's only so much that could be done with my frames (RayBan). - I paid and then I said I would like to take a look at some frames (as I might be ready to get new ones.) She didn't offer to help or show anything, she went back to attend to something at her desk, and as soon as I touched a frame she was quick and stern to inform me to put down any frames I had touched, since it needs to be disinfected. Well, I get it, but it does sound excessively rude, doesn't it? -I felt pretty much unwelcomed there. So if my review is going to help anyone out there. Beware. This was my experience, would definitely not recommend it.

I am very glad that I chose Modern Optical for my new glasses! I had visited a few shops to ask about a repair to my old glasses. When it became apparent the repair couldn't be done, I chose Modern Optical. I had a good feeling about their knowledge, expertise, professionalism and friendly customer service. They took the time to show me a selection of frames and made sure they were adjusted perfectly to look and feel right. In addition, they combined the parts of 2 old pairs at no charge, so that I have reliable back up glasses. Yesterday, I had a call from Jamee asking about my new glasses and was invited to stop by the shop anytime if the frames need adjustment. I look forward to stopping by sometime. I highly recommend Modern Optical!
