The Mary Brown’s Story
It was 1969. While the world watched the first man walk on the moon, we celebrated the first Guest walking through our doors in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. Needless to say, it was a giant leap for chicken. Word quickly spread and stores opened across the province. It soon became the chicken of choice. Iconic even. It was time to, pardon the pun, spread our wings.
By 1972, the secret of Mary Brown’s tantalizing chicken was out. Two stores opened in Ontario that year in Oshawa and Mississauga. From there, growth expanded west to Alberta, back east to the Maritimes, out to the Prairies and more recently, all the way to British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.
Today there are almost 200 Mary Brown’s locations across Canada, and that number keeps climbing rapidly – coast-to-coast, in small towns and big cities – as more and more Canadians fall in love with our delicious food! Sit tight, we’ll be in your neighbourhood soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their spicy and crispy chicken culminates in a satisfying experience that’s quite unique from the rest of the fried/grilled chicken around. If you squeeze the breading, you don’t get pools of grease on your table as you do with other franchises. Crispy chicken is actually enjoyable!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been at this location many times. I love the taste of their chicken and Mary Mondays. My visit yesterday was quite different from other days. I order a bunch of food and well there was a huge line up of people and had to wait a bit. What i noticed was there were 3 people 1 guy and 2 ladies working backwards and there was only 1 lady upfront. What i found was my food was already prepared and back people were just talking and laughing. The front women was left dealing alone with the customers, bagging food, taking calls and bunch of other stuff. The thing was upsetting because nobody came forward to help her. Also, she got bullied by other customers. I would say, Man she got 2 hands and she was fire, trying more than what her strength would have allowed her to. She apologized and thanked every customer. I was actually looking after the owner because i know him very well. I don’t like pointing mistakes and providing suggestions. I was forced today to leave a review.
Besides this scene, your food as always was amazing, speed of service was on fire, but if there would have been even numbers for your back and front that would have been amazing!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm a regular at the Mary Brown's on the south side never had poor service I always had a moderate to good experience until today the lady at the till is standing behind glass wearing a mask and his speaking with a strong accent so there was a misunderstanding but rather than being polite and reasonable she jumped down my throat telling me that I should be paying better attention!!
This employee needs to be reprimanded !!
Unacceptable!!

Monday 11th April I visited and ordered spicy habanero burger for me. When I told cashier that can I get fresh one please, at the same time manager came out and he was saying that I am not selling the yesterday’s burger and he misbehaved with me and he was about to fight with me, really felt uncomfortable at store , never experienced since I came here in Canada. I am planning to do complain at head office.
