KLM overbooks their flights and does not accommodate. Me and my fiancé were coming back to Toronto from Croatia and had our connecting flight in Amsterdam. We landed in Amsterdam airport around 11am, our flight for Toronto wasn’t until 530pm so we decided to go check in for our flight (online check in was not working and Croatia airport were not able to check us in either, they said it might be too early?) When we checked in for the flight we were given a boarding pass with no gate and our seat numbers were ‘standby’. We were unsure of what this meant so we asked a KLM representative and she told us we will have to wait until approximately 2-3pm to see our gate number and than can ask the workers at that gate but that it’s probably because they had overbooked our flight. At approximately 1230pm it showed that our gate would be E3 but we saw there was another flight leaving at 235pm from that gate so we waited until that time passed to ask the correct representatives at the gate. We arrived at the gate by 3pm, there were no representatives there except some stewardess’ that told us we will have to wait until our boarding time to find out our seat number- our boarding time on our boarding pass was 4:54pm so we went to go eat something and we came back to the gate around 4:30pm in hopes that we would see someone now. There were representatives there now but there were also a lot more people now. While waiting in line to talk to a representative we could over hear that other passengers had seat numbers already? When we went up the representative he told us that they overbooked the flight and they were going to have to ‘figure it out’ he then took our boarding passes and said they would call us up when they figure it out? Meanwhile it is now about to technically be boarding time? So we wait and wait, they start loading passengers in for economy and still we have not been called, so we went in line to go back up to ask. They then told us to wait again, they then finally call us and tell us we have seats but they are not together and are 10 rows apart on opposite sides of the plane and they are both middle seats. We ask them if there is anything else they can do, we explained we booked this flight over 6 MONTHS AGO so how can we not have seats together? They tell us there is nothing they can do. My fiancé’s seat was one with a little more leg room so I try to ask the single passengers around me if they will switch for more leg room, they of course say no because who wants a middle seat without knowing anyone on either side of them? No one. On top of all of this there were 6 business class seats completely empty and available that they could have given us to make up for all of the waiting and stress associated with not knowing if you are going to get onto your flight? Overall, the staff on the flight were nice, but I would not recommend KLM if you are wanting to guarantee you’ll sit with your family or friends on the plane, it apparently doesn’t matter how far in advance you booked the flight or how far in advance you were at the airport checking in.

The worst airline ever If i can give a negative rating i definitely would. My family and i fly often and this time we wanted to try klm...biggest mistake. I have a shoulder injury so i couldn't put my bags on the top...i asked for help at the check in counter both ways from toronto and coming back to toronto...both ways flight attendants were so rude....when i asked the first one going from Toronto her response was " if i have to do this every trip then i would have an injury too" .... coming back the flight attendents response was " well i have an injury too" both flights they refused to help me....i had to ask passengers to help me out. I noticed the flight attendents being way too rude to me and other hijabis or muslims in general on the plane but to other races they were fine. Are those the new standards of KLM? Racism and go against people with disabilities? I would advice everyone to think twice before giving their money to this airline Other than that their attitudes are horrible in toronto Pearson airport... Never Ever Again

I was allowed to check-in online for my flight on June 26th with my Canadian passport the day before. Upon arrival at the KLM check-in I was told I cannot board the flight to Amsterdam with final destination of Italy due to not being an EU citizen, even though I had checked with the Italian authority that I was allowed to travel there on business. The duty manager refused to rebook me on another flight, and also refuse to provide me a written note. She refuse to even provide me with her name. Going back to the counter again, the KLM staff refuse to even talk to me. This was a business trip and it was completely ruined. I'm still trying to get my ticket refunded and calling KLM I am being put on hold for hours at a time. They were completely unprofessional and it was a horrible experience. I will never fly with KLM again and will tell all my business partners the same.

Such a great airline. Loved how the crew were one of the most friendliest people. Our pilots were also great as they have gotten us 1 hr before our landing time. I’ll be taking this airline again in the future. Great job KLM.

this Flight is totally Fraud and scammers.. my friend had their flight yesterday and when they reached airport the staff over their told them that their flight was suspended without any reason. so this flight is totally Scam and FARAUD ...

this Flight is totally Fraud and scammers.. my friend had their flight yesterday and when they reached airport the staff over their told them that their flight was suspended without any reason and they don't even got any genuine reply and compensation that is totally mentally harassment as the flight was very important as they have their sister wedding.. so this flight is totally Scam and FARAUD ...

worst experience, they can cancel the flight at airport at the time of check in without advanced notice or they will said we cant do anything at airport , call customer service which is totally useless, After an hour they will pick the call or they will not the solution . they are scammer . at airport they will said to do new ticket not for refund .
