Such a cute resort! Rustic but totally comfortable cabins.yye price couldn't be beat! Stayed for three nights. The kitchens were well stocked with all the basics to cook with and we made use of the electronic heaters when the cabin got chilly. There was a cute beach area with lounge chairs to hang out in. There is a pathway that goes into town or into the forest loop. There are canoes and kayaks available to go out on the water, but it's also a quick drive to get to the full boat launch and boat rentals. The only downside is that it looks like the old cabins are being torn down in place of leased cabins. This makes me sad thinking that I may not be able to come back to these reasonably priced rentals.

Nice bungalows in decent condition. We had everything we may need in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Enjoyed hot water for kitchen/shower and automatic electric heating system. Deck with organized sitting area was also very much useful, although we were missing a bit a campfire/bbq place. Nice beach nearby is the best for sunset and Northern lights watching.

Quaint cabins in a great location. Staff were friendly and cabin was well stocked with everything commonly needed during a stay (except we brought extra blankets and bedding in case it got really cold, which it did) The cabins are definitely dated and need significant upgrades and/replacing, but that didn’t stop us from having a great weekend. It gets cold overnight in September in Waskesiu and really appreciated the electric heat in the cabin! Lots of construction around the property (building new cabins) but none was occurring during our stay. Downside was that no fire pit at the cabin or even a common area fire pit ?. They did have one hour bookings to be on the deck around the gas fire unit they had, but it’s not the same as an actual fire (sound, smell, roasting marshmallows etc). Hope to return one day!

We had a great weekend stay. We booked the small studio cabin for two of us but wound up with another couple. It was tight but adequate considering we did not spend much time indoors. It would have been perfect for just the two of us. The cabin is small and rustic but well equipped with basic amenities, no AC which would have been appreciated the one night. There are many windows which open though and that was nice. It is in a nice quiet northern setting right next to the lake and close to the town. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would and will stay there again.

The new cabins are beautiful and comfortable. However. We didn’t realize when booking that everything is under construction. The heavy equipment begins operations at 7am and continues until supper. It is far from peaceful during the day. Also, several hours after we were settled, we were forced to move cabins because management made a mistake. Another family apparently wanted ours and so we were squished into a cabin with less beds. We were offered compensation at checkout. I don’t recommend staying here unless you don’t intend to be her during the day, and unless you have a guarantee of where you will be staying. It wasn’t a positive experience at all.

We have been to Kapasawin many times over the years and stayed in the older cottages. Those cottages are gone now and have been replaced with modern two bedroom cottages. Be aware that when you book online you are not getting the larger cabins that overlook the lake. Those are long term rental only. I will admit that I was disappointed that we wouldn’t have a clear, unobstructed view of the water. The new cabins are very modern and very nice. A bit small but perfect for a couple or a small family. Flat screen TV, electric fireplace, full kitchen, four piece bath, large deck, private BBQ and AC/Heat are some of the main amenities. Everything worked really well and was easy to use. Not a lot of privacy from other cabins but when we were there the place was pretty empty. A few small things that could make the cabins better would be a larger coffee maker, a small fire table on the deck, some serving bowls and better furniture on the deck. The deck has a nice picnic table but the resin Adirondack chairs are cheap and flimsy. One broke when I sat on it and I went flying. The area is a construction zone at the moment and the workers start making noise around 8am and finish around 7pm. It is quite loud but not much can be done about that. It would have been nice if there was a reduction in rate as a compensation. I think the area will be really nice when it’s all done. The cabins are not cheap but probably at the high end of fair when compared to other rentals in the area. We had a mid season rate of about $330 a night. High season is closer to $400 a night. The only other rentals in the area that are even close to being as modern, that we saw, are in Elkridge and they are farther away from Waskesiu and similarly priced. An issue for us was the very poor communication with management. We tried on more than a few occasions to find out about availability by email and by using the old booking system. Questions went unanswered and we often got no response at all. The new online booking system seems to work well though. All in all the new Kapasawin is really nice, or at least it will be once construction is done. I suspect a couple years for the bulk of it. We will likely come back.

New cabins are very nice. Modern. Have everything you would need, albeit a bit small. It has to be noted that the resort is in full construction zone. Even though the cabins themselves were complete, the resort itself was very unfinished. The information provided before the trip as to what was provided in the cabin ans at the resort was very lacking, which made packing very difficult. I would not return until the resort is complete.

The property is overpriced, small and lacks features. Only good thing is it's a new property. The bungalows are very small. There is literally no space in the bedrooms to even walk around the bed. Parkings don't have electricity to plug your car's block heaters. There's also no view from the the balcony and privacy is a concern too. You can afford much better properties at a cheaper rate.
