★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great time in the lodge and even though we didn't stay the night were still treated like gold. The views in the most and rain were fantastic.
The road was muddy but fine to navigate with the rain. We used two wheel drive all season tiers no issues take it slow and carefully.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a super cool destination, harbouring one of the few Old Growth Forests in Eastern BC. There are well made trails throughout the area for multiple levels of hiking, from easy walks to more difficult mountain ridge hikes. The trees in this area are stunning!
Can't attest to the hotel, but the restaurant is good. Due to this being a popular tourist destination they reserve a section of the restaurant to the hotel guests, which I think is exceptionally smart.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hiked up through the old growth forest up to the lodge and had lunch. No question that the view is amazing on the deck on a sunny day, and the cold beer tasted pretty good too! There was about a 30-minute wait at around 1:00 in the afternoon, but once we ordered the food it was fast. The food was good and fresh, most the greens are grown on site. If you are thrifty you might want to take a pass as the cost of the meal certainly isn't going to be as cost-effective as something in town. Overall it was a great experience and will likely do it again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm only giving 5-stars because there isn't an option for 10! This review is long overdue but greatly deserved. My wife and planned to get married at ILL in June 2020... no wait June 2021...my mistake, actually July 2021. With so many changes, the whole planning process was a major challenge, BUT the one saving grace through the whole experience was the team at Island Lake Lodge. They were accommodating on every level and did everything possible to ensure we had a wonderful experience and because of this, in the end, we did.
We had an absolutely perfect wedding that was made possible by the amazing staff at ILL! They set a new standard for customer service that our families and guests are still talking about. I could go on and on but honestly, no amount of words could accurately describe how amazing this place is. Can't wait to be back for every anniversary!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location is one of the most beautiful settings I have ever stayed in. The chalets are log construction which is incredible to see. We overnighted 2 sleeps in the Tamarack Lodge- sleeping a family of 4 in a spacious room with 2 queen beds. We indulged in the spa which was a delightful experience! The food for all our meals was excellent and the staff here are very friendly and helpful! We even took time to walk the Lake Trail and got rewarded with some excellent photos!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is truly amazing. The whole experience is great. My husband came for catskiing & I came for the R&R. We have been here twice in summer & twice in winter and its always a Great experience. The food is delicious, Rooms are very cozy & clean and beds super comfy. The guides are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you are looking for a Getaway its truly worth it. I dont ski and came along for the peaceful setting and the staff makes me feel just as important and cant do enough to make my experience wonderful as well.Thanks Island lake, You guys Rock. So impressive that you remember us and all that is important to make our stay enjoyable. We will be back ♡

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has a spectacular setting deep in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It is breathtaking. All staff and all service people went out of their way to make sure we were all comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Loved that every little detail was taken care of. Overall, Island Lake is a very special place and it is off-the-charts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing overall experience. Very secluded feel without having to travel hours from civilization. Terrain is quite fun, with lots of undulations. Glades were spaced to perfection. Scenery from the lodge is unmatched anywhere I've been. This was the most personalized vacation experience I've ever had. Canadians are naturally pleasant, but this was even more wonderful than usual
