β β β β β If you require professional and good quality work; Hugo's Shoes Repair is the place to go! I have over the years given to him different challenging tasks such fixing shoes that did not fit me (either too big or too small), changing sole, etc. and he has delivered every time! There is ample parking in the area and plenty of shopping amenities such as London Drugs, Safeway and small food vendors.

β β β β β I walked into Hugo's shoe repair shop with an idea to turn a pair of shoes that are too small for me into a pair of sandals. I wasn't sure if that was possible, as it required cutting half of the shoe fabric. Hugo was on board with the idea, explained me how he was going to do it, and did an amazing job! He turned the shoes I was ready to give away into a unique pair of sandals. Definitely recommend!

β β β β β Went here to get my fly knit shoes repaired that were barely worn as it had a little tear on the toe. With careful stitching, and heart in craftwork, Iβm sure it could have been done seamlessly. Instead this guy decides to put glue all over my shoes, and sews it together as if he couldnβt see what he was doing. The stitching job is all over the place. He ran it back and forth with no care.
I went to go talk to him about it, and he said that I approved this job. You have to be kidding me!
Do not take your shoes here. If you donβt really care about your shoes, go here, but if you spend money on getting it repaired, best that you donβt come here.
A piece of adviceβ¦.go somewhere where they repair luxury brand shoes. These businesses care. Hugoβs does not have any luxury brand repairs.

β β β β β When I think of a place like this I think of professionalism. I brought an pair of shoes here to fix a hole in the sole, to freshen up the leather and to get a new pair of laces. I was handed a pair of shoes which looked exactly like the ones I left in and a packet of laces. I literally had to lace the shoes myself. The sole looked like it had a bit of glue on it. I wore them the next day and within 10 steps of my house I felt water in my shoe. How does a business like this survive?

β β β β β I went to Hugo's to try to widen some roller skates that were much too narrow and hurt my feet. I was a little worried as he didn't do much in the way of diagnosis - he just took them and said "I help with this problem all the time!" But I had nothing to lose because these skates were either going to be fixed or going to be trash - I couldn't keep wearing them with the pain they caused my slightly wide feet.
He told me it would take about ten days and sure enough, about a week and a half later the skates were ready. He let my partner pick them up for me.
WOW! What a difference! I was able to skate all night without pain. My roommate even commented that they looked different - a lot less narrow. They are now comfortable, and I guess the quick look he took was enough to know where to stretch out the leather. This guy knows feet!
This trip to Hugo's let me keep my favorite trusty vintage roller skates. It also saved me upwards of $300 and the hassle of trying to find new skates. 10/10, would recommend.
