This is an extremely popular restaurant with many orientalist dishes to choose from. HoGa has delicious food (I like the chicken katsu the best but have heard that the curry is also really good, I would NOT get the chicken teriyaki), great prices, and generous portions. If going at lunch, go early (before 11:30) otherwise you will wait in a huge line up that goes around the corner and through another set of doors. I never tire of lunch here as the selection of sides offer an opportunity to slightly change up the meal every time. If you go once, you will want to go again, I can almost guarantee it! Well worth a try!

Recently, I realized this has become my go to place when I can't decide what to eat. Good portions, taste, and affordable prices. They have extra Korean/Asian condiments. Small sit down area and it is basically take out. The building sets up stanchions for them, which tells you how busy it can get during peak hours, but it is quick service. It appears to be a family operated business so extra points (nothing wrong with eating at franchises).

I thought it was not possible to pay $7-$8 for lunch nowadays in the downtown financial district core of Toronto. Ho Ga Oriental Cuisine definitely made it possible. This place is even cheaper in terms of price than fast food places. No wonder it draws huge crowds during the weekday lunch rush hour. They have many different choices from chicken katsu to bulgogi to curry. I usually order the chicken katsu and they offer 2 sides choices like coleslaw, pasta, jap chae noodles, salad, etc. I find that the earlier you go before the lunch rush around 11:30am, the more choices you have for sides. Good portions. Cash only though.

$6-8 (CASH ONLY) for a filling meal in the financial district is almost impossible to find, but here it is! The japchae was my favourite part of the meal, really well made! Gotta make sure to add some of their gochujang-based sauce on top of whatever you get.

I really hope HoGa will still be open after the pandemic; they've served the best value lunch in the PATH for years. Nowhere else in the core serves such tasty food for $6-8, and I've never left feeling hungry. A must-try if you're in the area.

I used to come here often. I get that the pandemic has affected us all. But recently, the portion has drastically decreased. It felt more like appetizer not lunch. Food businesses need to realize the moment you drop your quantity and quality, you lose the value and customers. If you used to go to this place few years ago. I recommend skipping this place now

Small takeout place in the PATH with very affordable Korean takeout. All of the items were made fresh and most are ready to go.
