About Generations, Multi Generational Housing and Community Centre
Karim (BApsc (Chem. Eng.)) has worked in various capacities in the oil and gas industry, with Gulf Canada, Dome Pet, Amoco and Crestar, before joining Goldman Sachs in 1998. At Goldman Sachs, he developed the business which resulted in him managing the Canadian and Western USA Commodities group. He retired as the Managing Director in 2016.
Karim has served as city chair of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada. He has also served in senior capacity in various Ismaili Institutions, including Chair of the National Education Board for Canada, Campaign Chair Canada for the Aga Khan Museum, Lead for the CFC Canada Covid Economic Response Task force and recently appointed as Global Lead for Economic Recovery Task Force.
Karim also sits on various boards/advisor of private companies ranging from Oil and Gas to Technology to Medical services.
Karim currently co-manages a private Family Wealth Office investing in various sectors across Canada.

During the four full days of my visit, I can wholeheartedly say that the Staff were amazing, amazing ~ they really care for the residents and go above and beyond. Staff are truly special here and help make Residents' lives easier. Very clean and well looked-after facilities. Food also is very appetizing with good, healthy and hearty choices. Kudos to the Management of MGH as the attitude of Staff is a direct reflection of Management.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here on a volunteering trip with one of my classes last year (before covid-19). The facility was clean, the people were great, and the activities they had for their seniors were amazing! I got to play board games with seniors and chat with them too.

I am constantly being threatened of short visits being cancelled, each time for asking questions or speaking up about issues I see.
Different treatment and rules for different people.
Denied being able to bring items my father needed, which was also a necessity, and also Dr recommended.
His Dr called me, I explained to staff and I was still not allowed to drop off.
Yesterday, reception refused to accept medically necessary supplies for one of my parents, but I have seen her accept items from other family members when they buzz (falling under different "rules" for different people....)
And I refused to leave until items were accepted, how can a care center deny neccessary items??? ?
I was informed this week that other family members cannot visit, even though they are on the list to visit my parents.
I have not been able to finish moving my mother's stuff in, but other's have moved in and out of the building during this time.
Beyond angry and fed up.

The amount of COVID-19 outbreaks here throughout the pandemic is terrible, many positive staff come in causing the vulnerable residents to get ill. May be instead of giving only the visitors a hard time with rules and COVID-19 screenings check more with your staff!
