Even though Blackstone Manor wasn't the right place medically for my loved one, Jennifer called me back and was exceptionally helpful. Helpful Beyond reason in helping me find the right location for my loved one. I really appreciate her honesty and industry knowledge and I won't soon forget her name!!

My experience at Luxstone manor was not very good at all. I started working there as a dinning room server with the promise that our wage would have an increase by the end of the month.. 2 months later there was no raise. I also felt that there is hardly any employee appreciation there and terrible management and communication between departments. If the management was a bit more friendly and communicative it would be better. Many times the dinning room were short staff and it could have easily been avoided if there was proper communication between management and employees. It is not fair for the servers to work extra hard for the same pay when someone could have been called in or informed about their shifts. Overall not the best place to work. The residents were wonderful but management was not the best. Maybe they could stop being penny pinchers and simply pay a server more to be a supervisor and take on extra tasks.

For the last 6 years I have worked for Luxstone Manor and I have been very happy here. The Residents are my extended family and the co-workers are amazing people who come to work everyday with a smile on their face. It is not uncommon to sit at the front desk and listen to the laughter from the dining room .... from residents and servers! I have seen so many things over the last 6 years here, the one thing that still amazes me is how many of my co-workers go above and beyond for the residents just to see them smile! We have had our trials and tribulations here like any work place but I can still say that I'm happy to go to work everyday!!

In December of 2014 my mother-in-law moved into Luxstone Manor in Airdrie. The move was made from a similar style of independent living seniors residence in Calgary because all of her small family now live in Airdrie and mom needed a little bit more help from us. In looking at the options in Airdrie we found that the friendliness of the residents and staff we initially met at Luxstone was the factor that won us over. The pricing is pretty much identical to her previous home, however there are a few more services offered at Luxstone which we really liked. The weekly cleaning includes changing the bedding which was unexpected and welcome. The meals and snacks provided are tasty with choices offered at mealtimes and fruit, goodies, juices, coffee, tea available throughout the day. There is a hairdresser, with her own salon in the building, which is convenient. She has been there for several years, loves her job and the residents, and my mom-in-law really enjoys her appointments. Activities are plentiful for those who want to socialize and include scheduled exercise (seated, yoga, hallway walking club), bingo, coloring group, various socials, fun seasonal contests (find hidden hearts for Valentines all over the building!), monthly birthday celebration with tea and cake. There is weekly musical entertainment brought in, outings for shopping and appointments, plus occasional day trips during the nicer weather. Bible Study, Chapel, movies and sports in the Library room. Games and puzzles are provided on each floor in the comfortable lounge areas ... and more! The activity coordinator keeps a fun and busy calendar to provide many choices for the residents on a daily basis. Families are welcome to participate in almost any activity and opportunities to help out, such as in the activity room where there is sewing, quilting, crafting, knitting, etc., are truly appreciated by the residents. This is my mom-in-laws home and as she is getting older she also needs a little bit of help. That is why we love that Luxstone is close to us, and knowing the staff, who are very friendly and enjoy interacting with the residents is a comfort as well. Overall we are happy, mom-in-law is happy and comfortable - it is a good situation. Susan Frazer

My Mom moved in to Luxstone 10 days ago. She subsequently experienced medical difficulties which resulted in her needing to move on to a different facility. The staff at Luxstone treated Mom with the utmost of respect and helped our entire family get through a very trying week. Linda especially, brought many smiles to Mom's face and we are very grateful for her.

We moved grandma to Luxstone Manor in Airdrie December 2014 from Calgary so she would be closer to family and we are SO glad we did!! Luxstone Manor is an extremely lovely , clean, friendly home that I truly believe grandma is happy and feels safe living in. The staff at Luxstone Manor are TOP NOTCH! They do such an amazing job with daily activities , socials, holiday festivities, birthday celebrations, crafts, musical entertainment…honestly the list goes on and on. It is so nice to know that grandma has lots of fun things to help fill her days! We love to visit and see her β€˜dancing up a storm’ in the evenings when the musical entertainment comes in :-) The daily meals, snacks, goodies etc. are always fresh & tasty and grandma loves being able to take an evening snack & cup of tea back to her room. Overall Luxstone Manor is a wonderful place for our grandma to be and for her family to come visit. Well done Luxstone!! Well done :-)

Many, many thanks to all the very friendly staff at Luxstone Manor for taking great care of mom and dad. The housekeeping staff were awesome and kept the suite squeaky clean. I also want to thank the maintenance crew, dining staff, hairdresser and concierge services for all their extra efforts that help keep residents comfortable and happy.

My mother lived at the Luxstone rather comfortably for over three years. Staff cheerfully greeted us upon every arrival. I found that every level of staff was invested in learning my mothers name and tending to her needs as an individual. She really liked that she could have her hair done on site by such a friendly and skilled stylist. My mother often said how much she liked her room and the staff. When her needs became to great for assisted living, the staff went out of their way to care for her while she waited for a supportive living location. Our research showed us that the Luxstone was a more affordable choice than anything Calgary could provide and it was only a 30 minute drive.
