Mar 3/21 - I did say I would keep names out, but this does seem a bit important to note: After another poor review of laser hair removal is posted, 4 new 5 star reviews appear specially targeting laser hair removal. Aimee Avery is listed as one, but on LinkedIn she is listed as the owner of this business. It does seem these were created to boost the clinics rating back up. On to my personal review: Enlighten advertises they use laser but I feel they do not. After almost monthly treatments for "laser" hair removal for over a year, I'm still told to come in monthly. I consulted with another clinic who told me they are likely using IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). I've had a test spot done at the other clinic and seen significant difference in effectiveness (level of hair loss is where I'm only just reaching with treatments from Enlighten). After some research on the Elōs Plus machine stated on Enlightens website, I found out it is IPL mixed with RF (radio frequency). The first technician told me it was laser. I called Enlighten to cancel my next appointment and asked for a refund of the next treatment I pre-paid for (sale price), explained why, and was told they "don't do refunds". Their solution is to give me 2 free treatments so see if it changes anything (I counted about 15 treatments, that tells me how well it's working, 2 more won't change how well it's working) or use the credit towards other services. I checked costs online and I'd have to pay more for another treatment from their office. I'm not asking for more than a refund for service I no longer want and was denied. This is poor customer service given I've been paying since April 2019. Treatment themselves aren't great either, very painful, from my understanding now, due to inadequate cooling provided during treatment. It is difficult to gage tone through text, however, the owners response comes across as combative for a few reasons: 1. Elōs does have Diode laser options, however, other factors lead me to believe they are using IPL - painful procedure (Should feel like a rubber band being snapped on the skin or a prickling feeling, however, technicians have expressed that some clients yell during hair removal due to the level pain of they experience. Others have been kicked and kneed. Pain threshold is personal, but I can attest, treatments are painful.), more sessions are required as it is not as effective and some report it is not permanent, it is significantly cheaper, more adverse effects, etc. 2. Other people have left comments on google reviews that the hair removal has not been effective for them - the owner states they "[...] have never had a complaint [...]". 3. All laser and IPL machines pose a burn risk and patients are required to acknowledge this in a waiver. Cooling is important to protect the skin - the owner states, and I quote, "[...] no such thing as inadequate cooling [...]". 4. As per the denied refund, the owner states I "[...] would have signed a waiver saying such [...]" but can't find me in the system and goes on to say I may not be a client. My surname is not common and I spoke to reception on Tuesday to cancel my Thursday evening appointment, for the owner to say I'm not in the system is false and rather infuriating. I'm not here to spread false information and I have done some research, including speaking to a medical spa with licensed medical professionals (Registered Nurses, etc.). They may be using a Diode laser, but I feel other factors make this questionable. I have kept names out of this review as I do not wish to target an individual, but I feel there are some changes that could be made to improve communication between this clinic and it's clients. Coming from a different medical community, I understand the importance of client communication. I got a second opinion, and feel that opinion is more knowledgeable.

I’ve been going to the Airdrie location for many years now I’ve had Laser Hair removal treatments that lasted years as well as photo finish treatments, I’ve also purchased their makeup line, I’ve never left with out being 110% happy, the place is very classy and up to date all the ladies are very nice and always able to answer any of my questions rather in person or online., I definitely have and will continue to recommend them. I drive from Red Deer to go to enlighten cause it’s well worth it , they’ve always made me feel welcome and not rushed like I’m a number. I look forward to my next visit. Definitely a five ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

My husband bought a gift card for my bday wanting to get me Botox. When he spoke with the receptionist, she told him that the gift card could be used for Botox. When I went in asking for the injection, they said that the doctor who does it isn’t part of the clinic and that the gift card can’t be used for injections. They offered to do some 20 minute facials for me at $150 a session. Please don’t offer services that gift cards don’t work on. I would have kept my money and went elsewhere.

Great experience from start to finish! From the moment I had my initial consultation, I knew I would be in good hands. Being a male, I was apprehensive about walking into the clinic to talk about skin correction based on some issues I've been dealing with for many years. Aimee and her team made me feel extremely comfortable from the onset, and I have been extremely satisfied up to this point. My treatment is still ongoing, and am hopeful I can get back to feeling confident in my own skin (no pun intended!). Thank you Aimee, and the great team at Enlighten!

Best place for laser and medical staff is extremely knowledgeable and professional. They also have a Dr on staff who is incredibly and honest.

I just want to say my experience was absolutely top notch! They are very professional and kind. They take the time to listen to what you want and need. I had the photo facial and the laser hair removal and I'm very pleased with the results! I would definitely recommend them 100% and can't wait to go for my next treatment!

Had a great experience at this clinic. I went in for a consult yesterday and was well informed about the procedure, the product they use, any risks, side effects, expected results, and even what can be done if I don’t like the result. I was very pleased to not be rushed through the consult phase, as this was a treatment I was nervous about. I opted to go ahead with the treatment (tear trough filler) and I was immediately pleased with the result. today there is no bruising, just a little tenderness at the injection site (as expected) and it’s looking great! The pricing was way more reasonable than I’ve seen it in other clinics too. I am super happy with my whole experience here.

It’s with mixed emotions I write this review. It’s hard and uncomfortable sometimes to give honest reviews. I had really hoped that my laser hair removal treatments at Enlighten would be “successful”, but I’m disheartened to report they weren’t. I would like to start by highlighting the positives - the staff are so friendly and the studio is beautiful and so clean. Lovely team and environment! However, my laser hair removal treatments were not successful. Brazilian and underarm treatments are advertised as requiring 3-6 treatments for full removal. I completed 9 or 10 treatments. The hair was never gone and now, 3 months since my last treatment, the hair I thought was “gone” has grown back. It’s been really disappointing. My hair is not light in color, super course, etc., so I should have responded favorably. The treatments were very expensive, so it’s disappointing to have negligible results and especially upsetting that Enlighten does not offer a guarantee. I reiterate that my intent is not to “slam” this business, but to provide insight into my experience. I see value in providing honest reviews as I appreciate them, when I’m considering various products or services. UPDATE 1: While the business has responded saying this is a fake review, it’s not. I was a customer from Nov 2019 - Nov 2020 and am able to provide receipts as proof of purchase/treatment. Google doesn’t allow me to post pictures, or I would attach them here. I am happy to provide them to Google should they contact me. UPDATE 2: It’s upsetting and hard to be accused of dishonesty when I’m being honest. I attended for treatments Nov 5, Jan 3, Jan 31, Feb 28, June 23, July 21, August 18, Sept 23, Oct 27, Nov 24. As already mentioned, treatments are advertised as requiring 3-6 treatments for full removal, which I completed when the studio re-opened after covid restrictions were lifted.
