Dr. Mann is one of the best vets in Vancouver, he is knowledgeable and examines every pet before recommending any exams or treatment! The last few years i’ve been to a lot of vets in multiple countries and Dr. Mann is one i would totally come back to!

I’d avoid this vet if you could, I initially brought my puppy here because all the other vets in my neighbourhood don’t take new pets, and the rating for this place isn’t that bad, but after 3 visits, I’m determined to switch vet and I realized many good ratings for this place were actually for the other veterinarian next door: the South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital, too bad they're at capacity :( First of, Dr. Mann is not caring to my puppy at all, he’s very rough with my puppy when giving vaccinations. Secondly, since it’s my first time having a dog, I had a lot of questions for Dr. Mann, he appeared to be very impatient and responded with “up to you” to many of my questions. He didn’t care to ask me questions to understand my lifestyle or my puppy. As a first time dog owner, I look up to him as the professional for advise, I want him to give me advise for best practices and suggestions rather than “up to me”. Thirdly, the receptionists here are very disorganized, they either had the dates wrong or knows nothing. Every time I called for an appointment, I’m left with the feeling that one day I show up, they’re going to say that I didn’t make an appointment. And this happened on my third puppy vaccination visit, when I showed up, Dr.Mann said I don’t have an appt, I showed him my phone call record and he took me in, then guess what, he literally asked me to hold my puppy while standing in front of the door of the clinic and gave my puppy the shot. What on earth! Do not come to this place if you have other choices!

The vet doesn't even check pets temperature when doing an exam. Barely even looks at them. Doesn't check their teeth, look at their eyes, listen to their breathing...not sure how they call that an exam. He has the girl working the front ask you all the questions and she writes it down and then relays it to him. He doesnt even ask the questions himself. He just comes in and tries to sell you on more tests. Doesnt feel like he cares about the animals just the $$$. Also, 2 days after I left my cat started sneezing a lot. Then 2 days later my other 2 started and it got bad. Now I had to fork out another $450 after taking my cats to another vet and getting antibiotics for their respiratory infections.

I brought both my cats in here and the vet was really nice to help take care of my kitten for a day to give rest to my older cat. But the kitten had what I thought was a rash and he didn't know what I was cost me 400 for testing and still now idea. When was it was something as simple as cat acne. He didn't even mention it could be that at all he just made me pay 400 to test for cat leukemia. Spent entire night cared and I had lost my job at the time so 400 was a lot to pay. Especially for something thst wasn't even serious.

Our dog had diarrhea for a couple of days, and due to our existing vet is fully booked, we booked an appointment this morning with Dr. Mann. When we took our dog there, first thing Dr. Mann did was to give us a price list of the things he thought we should choose to do (like we are a vet...?!). Without even touching our dog, temperature or anything, he wanted us to choose examination that would cost a few hundred to thousand dollars. We are 13-year dog owners, and we've had our other dog having way worse diarrhea, and we were never just given a price list. Dr. Mann in the end refused to give us antibiotics only without going through anesthesia and IV. Therefore, we left. $45 well spent discovering a local vet that is not suitable for us. We will NEVER GO BACK to this place as we cannot trust a vet that puts price list BEFORE the dog.

I wish I could give this vet 0 stars because it was the worst experience I have ever had (and I have had some pretty bad vet experiences). My dog has been having runny stools the past few days so we brought him in as a new client to be seen by Dr.Mann. After spending maybe like 30 seconds examining my dog, he says that it could be an infection and that he would need to do further tests or he can just give him antibiotics. When we asked what tests he just listed all possible options and prices, and told us to pick. We were confused as to why that choice was on us when he should be the subject matter expert and perform tests that would help him figure out what is wrong with my dog. Additionally, I was even more confused that he wanted to perform $200-300 injections on my dog when he didn't even conclude what was wrong with him. When I brought up how he's had this experience before and the other vet diagnosed him with something, he was so quick to be defensive and said "okay then go back to that vet. If you like that vet, go back to them." I was completely thrown off by his rude remarks and did not understand where the animosity was coming from. When I started showing more frustration about the situation, he started going back on his words by saying my dog will get better in a week with no treatment but then 5 minutes later say that he will need injections. At this point, I did not trust a single thing this vet was telling us. Basically just wasted $40 on a consultation and left even more confused than ever. I strongly do not recommend this vet to anyone. Dr.Mann is rude and carless about the pets he is seeing.

Dr. Mann has been my vet for my 3 dogs and cat since he first opened. He's reasonably priced and will always see my animals quickly. His staff changes frequently but I believe he has many students at his office. I always feel looked after after our visits.

This is our Baby, Willow. She was a rescue from Washington State. We gave her a Forever Home November, 2016 when she was about 7 weeks old. She was a funny little girl and OH SO LOVING! I wanted a lap-dog and I sure got one. Up until May 27, she'd been a healthy, happy girl. Never sick. She had her shots yearly and that's it. Dr Mann's staff were good but I was never quite comfortable with him as he is very hard to understand and seems gruff. On that Friday, Willow went to Dr. Mann to have her annual vaccines and her teeth cleaned. For this, she needed to be sedated. I arranged for this but my Husband, John, had to take her as I would be away. When my Husband picked her up that afternoon, she was lethargic and still sleepy. As I'd taken her last year to get her shots (they did have to give her a shot to calm her as she was quite worked up), I reassured him that this was normal and she'd bounce back by the next day. That evening I called to see how she was and she was still "not herself". John said all he could do was cuddle her. She didn't have a lot of strength. Again, I reassured him, thinking Willow would be fine in the morning, as she had been last year. Our Baby Girl woke John crying at 1am May 28. He took her out of her kennel and she was limp. He took her to bed with him and held her. Then her legs went straight out and her breathing changed....more space between each breathe until she stopped breathing. Our little girl, Willow, was gone. We are both still in shock. How could this happen? I guess we'll never know. It hurts so much. We are gutted. John took Willow to Dr. Mann that morning at 9:15am. Dr. Mann apologized for what had happened and said that Willow was "fine" when she left". Ok. I can accept that given that she had been sedated and was very groggy. His explanation was that Willow may have had a heart attack. Again, that may be but SHE WAS A HEALTHY 5.5 year old dog! The point of this review is to say that although I am not confident with what transpired during her "visit", nor with Dr. Mann's bedside manner, there hasn't been ONE WORD from him or his staff SINCE THEY TOOK HER BODY. No follow-up... No call. No email. No condolence card. NOTHING. I am an Entrepreneur and if this had been one of my clients suffering the loss of a beloved family member, as Willow was to mine, I would never have ignored my clients pain. Clients need to feel like "people" and not "dollar signs". At the very least, a follow-up call. Very disappointed in Dr Mann and his clinic. I will never recommend him and should we ever consider another pup (not likely as Willow is a hard act to follow), he will not get his hands on her/him ever. Rosa Livingstone
