DORE Property Management

So far everything has been wonderful. My building manager (Janet) is amazing and has truly made me feel at home. Also, the moving process was quick and everything went smoothly.

On April 2 we notified DORE of our intention to end our tenancy, falling within their terms of two calendar months' notice for lease termination and making our technical move-out date June 2, though we were happy to vacate by the 1st. We also added the possibility of having our things moved out by May 15, giving DORE the added bonus of a possible early move-in date for new tenants. We were shocked when DORE emailed back saying they acknowledged our notice of termination for June 30-- a whopping 90 days from our initial notice-- and not June 1 because our notice came a single day late. They refused our 60 days notice on a technicality, and put us on the hook for an extra month’s rent. On May 15 we moved our things into a new place and DORE proceeded to come and go from the apartment we were still paying for without due notice, which goes against their own clause stated in their lease. DORE claimed the apartment is now “vacant” as our belongings are no longer there. The $1500+ removed from our account says otherwise, regardless of whether we are there full-time. We are either legal tenants or the apartment is vacant. DORE seems to believe they are entitled to have it both ways. We contacted DORE asking what has been happening regarding a new tenant and we were informed that new tenants could be moving in as early as June 15. Another astounding claim considering we are still the legal tenants until June 30 as per their notice. Not only that, but the agent we spoke with could not confirm if we would get the remainder of the month’s rent reimbursed. Only that they would speak with the accounting department and get back to us. As I’m writing this review, I received an email from them suddenly stating the new tenant signed for July 1. Suspicious given this comes on the heels of my partner’s review. A preemptive move to save them from legal penalties by double dipping? All too likely. Again, they not only pander to you in person and over the phone but resort to shady practices to maintain their bloated reputation such as disabling reviews entirely on their Facebook page to make sure the legitimate review we left disappears and you -- the person reading this -- never finds out what they’re truly like. Like my partner said in her review, you aren’t a person to DORE but simply a dollar figure. I DO NOT recommend dealing with DORE Property Management as a tenant. Save yourself the trouble and disrespect and go with any other property management company.

An all around positive experience renting with DORE. I had the pleasure of having Alisha has my leasing consultant. Everything was handled with care and professionalism. 10/10 recommend checking out their listings for anybody looking to rent clean and well maintained units! I’m currently leasing a unit at 350 Montgomery, I really like the unit and building. Alisha my leasing consultant was great and really helped a lot during the leasing process. I have almost no complaints. The only thing that annoys me is that there is another apartment building very close by at 350 Mayfield. Unfortunately when driving down Montgomery road you see this other building first. This causes frequent confusions for deliveries. If there was a way for them to change the address number for the building then everything would be perfect. Unfortunately I do not know if it’s within their power to do so.

Alisha was an amazing help facilitating our move into our new home quickly and seamlessly. She is extremely attentive and always willing to answer questions and help however she can. The rest of the team including Janet also made this process easy and stress free. Excited to be in our new apartment all thanks to you guys!

By far the best property management firm in Ottawa. Ive worked with many others and Dore is very affordable. They are very responsive. My tenants are great. They do a great job managing my rental home. We were also able to do everything virtually. I'm already in the process of buying another rental home and Dore will for sure be my property management company.

We had a great time choosing my partner and I’s first apartment together. Alisha made the tour extremely enjoyable showing us many rooms we could afford in our budget and untimely finding us an absolutely beautiful one. She was very timely in response and very sweet. She made our big move from Hamilton/Toronto to Ottawa very easy and pleasant! Would definitely use this company for the next time we move.

By far the best Property Management Company in Ottawa! They found me great tenants (knock on wood) for my rental home in Barrhaven and they also handle the service calls. My unit had a plumbing issue and they took care of it promptly. My tenants we're so impressed with how quickly and efficiently they took care of everything. I don't even need to lift a finger anymore. Very affordable property management rates too!
