Great place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of spots to choose from. It would be nice to have an alternative route to access the highway. Long term winter stays are available. All around good place.

We stayed at the campground on middle of October. The office was closed, so we had to check in ourselves. They only offered full hookup, which are of course the most expensive ones (52 Dollar per night). The washrooms nearby were closed, and it was quite a long walk to the next ones ..... no chance if it is urgent! The shower had to be paid extra and even the WiFi. The token and the code for the WiFi could be purchased in the office during business hours. But the office was closed, no one there all day long. And for such a service we paid CAD 52/night !!! During our trip we stayed in several Provincial Parks, which have been much better maintained and with much nicer sites. We do not recommend the Country Maples RV Resort in Chemainus at all!

Was actually comforting to see all the little families here. Felt a bit nostalgic for my childhood. I was well taken care of, rolled in from a long day of driving. The tent sites on the patch of grass are close yes, but you do get to hear the river, and also you’ve got the basics- fire pit, picnic table. There are other tent sites too, and those are a bit more private ish. More trees, a bit denser. Showers are great! Kinda cool there’s a pool but never did get a chance to check it out. I’d recommend for a night if you need a rest and a swim, shower and laundry. Or longer if you’ve got a family and some vacation time! I also didn’t get to check out any trails, so…

Very family orientated park, loved the river pool. Felt comfortable letting my 9yo ride her bike around the campground and allowing my 9yo to bring her 5yo brother to the park. Would like to see stairs put in instead of a rope to get down and up from the river. Very dusty in the summer months with no rain. Expected paved roads on main parts and gravol instead of dirt in the campsite. We stayed at 61/61A for a week which was amazing minus the dust. Now looking into a membership as my family had a blast.

Big campsite everything from tenting to big bus size campers. Noise from the highway carried over at night. Very clean and new main facility building. Pet friendly. Food truck on site! Minigolfing with the kids was fun. Convenience store with very friendly service. It’s a little walk to the river through the forest but well worth it. It felt a little too busy at night with lots of traffic, but that could have been because of our central location there. The kids loved the swimming pool.

A hidden paradise in the middle of Vancouver Island. The facilities like the showers, bathrooms and laundromat are super clean. The RV/camping stalls are quite large and hidden amongst the trees. The landscaping, including the flowers and gardens, are carefully and meticulously maintained and colourful. The only downside to this place is that it is so nice that if you stay here while traveling through, you might not want to leave.

It’s a lovely resort. Being there in early spring meant it felt very dark in our site with heavy tree growth all around but I would think in summer that would be a bonus. Great staff, super helpful. They even lent me a stepladder after a massive windstorm covered our triple slides in rubbish so I could clean them off. Lots to do for kids and I am sure it will be even better later in the season when pool is open. High speed internet but you pay be day or month (-1 star)
