β β β β β I'm giving the West Broadway location three stars only because I have had pretty great service there before. However I had the very unpleasant surprise that their ATM is now locked-down outside of business hours...??? Surprising and incredibly inconvenient. I have no idea if other locations are now like this because this is the most central location for me and I really only ever come here to deposit cheques, withdraw cash or do anything else ATM-related. Usually when it is most convenient for me, in the early morning, before work. When the bank is closed. Surprising and disappointing move, Coast Capital. I came back to this bank for a reason. Do I have to reconsider, again?

β β β β β Everyone should be aware that this is by far the worst banking institution in Canada! A family member tried to send money overseas, and staff member named, ESTHER CHANG was very rude and unprofessional, putting an inaccurate details in the transaction. More importantly, this staff member was not helpful at all, seems like she just wanted to charge and in a hurry to charge bank fee even with incomplete transaction details and it happened 3 TIMES without even verifying and double checking the information with an obvious goal to charge a bank fee 3 times. Its important to make money in this world, but don't forget about ethics! I strongly do not recommend this horrible bank to anybody!

β β β β β All the staff i've ever dealt with at any location of Coast Capital have been rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. You get charged for taking money out of an atm, for e transfers. Their accounts dont offer anything of value.

β β β β β I came into the bank today to inquire about the free chequing account. The customer rep was not helpful at all by providing me with one word answers instead of providing with solutions to my situation. I'm not sure if she is sick or tired from something but it was the worse customer service experience ever. I greeted the customer rep, however she did not greet me back as I approached her and as I left the bank. Other bank tellers, such as TD Canada Trust and Royal Bank of Canada always provide excellent customer service.

β β β β β I've been with Coast Capital since I was 7, and this company has gone rapidly downhill. Their technology stack is completely unusable and behind, it treats its members like it's a bank but offers the services of a credit union.
I recommend going with a reputable bank or going with a real credit union that cares about its members (like VanCity).

β β β β β Took out there 3rd party auto insurance for comprehensive. My vehicle was stolen, after months of back and forth they declined coverage, I was absolutely shocked. I closed 2 of 3 corporate accounts here and will be closing the last soon. Stay away.

β β β β β Whatever you do, DONT do your banking with this company. Shoddy service, faulty apps and technology with constant outages, horrible, outdated, SLOW ATMs. Please note that this is NOT a full service bank. They do not have the ability to provide what RBC/HSBC etc would but ofc wonβt tell you that til itβs too late.
Avoid like the plague!

β β β β β Banking (not insurance) member of 10 years. Last year they upgraded their digital banking system, which introduced periodic down time, no etransfers etc... Now, 1 year later, and my account has the same issues PLUS my debit card no longer works. I guess I will spend 2-3 hours this afternoon dealing with their limited customer service, but I'm definitely not happy about it. I recommend choosing a different credit union, and I'm even considering a commercial bank at this point.
