This is my friends story. It made me so angry that I had to share it. He found a kitten on the street near his home. First he tried to find it a home, he hasn't worked in almost a year and just got back a few months ago so money has been tight. But after awhile he started to like the cat so much he couldn't bring himself to give him away. Anyone that knows him wouldn't be surprised by this story at all. One of the kindest ppl with a huge heart and he loves animals. Someone down the street from him takes him to THIS "sHeLtEr" who tells him he needs to pay $150 dollars if he wants his cat back. He tells them he can't afford this (I think all of us when deciding between paying for a cat or paying the mortgage would choose mortgage). I thought for sure, being a place that supposedly cares about animals, they would let the cat go home. Not only was I wrong, they actually started threatening him. Saying they would call a collection agency and have it added to his property taxes. In other words, we won't let this cat go until we've profited off it and even if you don't come to get it we'll still find a way to profit off it. Because apparently that's the #1 goal of this organization. DO NOT TAKE ANIMALS HERE

I used to work here and the lack of compassion these people have for the animals is disgusting. I started working thinking it would be rewarding but instead I was feeling sad all the time about all the perfectly fine animals being taken away from perfectly fine owners. The #1 priority should be the animal, not making money.

Most ppl working here are nice, but the person running it has no soul. She looks at every animal as something to exploit for profit. When you're getting paid to do it is it really a good deed? Please avoid bringing animals here if you really care about them. Do your best to find the owner or find it a home yourself because as soon as these ppl get their hands on it they won't let it go until they've made money.

I took in a kitten off the street a few months ago. Gave it a place to sleep, food, love...but of course I let him out as well. Only when I was also home, never while I was at work, and never at night. Someone on my street finds him and takes him here. After just 3 days they want $150 to get the cat back. I, not having worked in almost a year, can't afford this. So I said I'm willing to continue taking care of the cat, I didn't lose him, had my neighbour left him alone he would've came back like he always did. This was not enough. They need the money and started to threaten me with collection agencies and adding the bill to my property taxes. So let's be clear. This is not a shelter. This is a FOR PROFIT organization that exploits the animals for financial gain.

We adopted a new family member 3 years ago. 7 yr old female German Shepherd mix (Indy). The staff was friendly and helpful. Will adopt from them again. Indy is such a lovely dog. we have now adopted another new family member today (Dec 30 2021). Duke is a beautiful boy and is a joy to have him join our family.

Been coming here with my girlfriend to donate sheets for the past few years. Every time we come the people over the counter are super friendly and very thankful for our donation. We always try to look at the animals they have and see if we can give them some love before heading out and they always seem to be well taken care off.

I adopted my Boxer from here about 9yrs ago. (Omg can't believe it was that long ago!) Still to this day I can't believe how lucky I was to find her. She was a stray & only 6mos old at the time. I was told she was being held for 7days in hopes somebody would call to claim her. On that 7th day I couldn't believe nobody claimed her & she was still there. I took her home that very same day! She would've never survived as a stray. It was winter, she was so thin & also had/has no fear of cars/traffic. I fear she never would've made it, if not for them picking her up. I've had several Boxers throughout my childhood & I still can't believe I found this amazing girl & It didn't cost me $500-$1000 either. Only $150 adoption fee + the $50 license. I highly recommend to anyone who's looking to welcome a pet into their family, please adopt a pet in need from your local shelters. IMO They appreciate your love & kindness the most. The staff was very kind & helpful. The location was very clean. Much Luck to all of you who are searching for the right pet, hopefully you'll find it here❀
