BMO Bank of Montreal - Edmonton

“Gong show” - nothing at this branch is simple or easy. Basic things like mortage payment, switch or payout statement is almost impossible to get. No cooperation between manager and the staff. One day person 1 is taking care of your situation and next day person 2, because person 1 is not there today. Some of the staff should not work with public. Maybe they act like that because they are pushed for “results” and they can’t offer anything competitive, however being professional should not be something unique.

Deposited a cheque using the mobile app and wasn't informed it'll be a longer hold than usual, was told there wouldn't be a hold on my cheque the 2nd time. Called customer service they said they can't do anything and to go in branch, went in branch and pretty much got told the same thing. They lied in person and over the phone and now I have funds I can't use but need. Fantastic, left Servus for BMO but I'm switching back now.

Submitted an application for a consolidation loan through the BMO Online system. Talked to one of their call centre lenders and was approved and it was a smooth process. That is where the smooth part of this transaction ended. Call centre referred me to this branch as I was unable to book at the Namao branch. My wife and I met with Romeo and we signed the paperwork. Romeo called me a few days after and said he missed a few signatures so we came back in and signed again. Fast forward three weeks and Romeo calls me again and asks me to come back in again and resign documents for a third time. I tell him I have limited time to come in and I will try my best. I ended up going out of town and we cannot connect. I receive an email about 2 weeks after initial contact and the bank states that because of the paperwork (which ended up being an inconsequentially insurance waiver and paperwork we had signed already) not being addressed they are going to CALL IN MY LOAN AND SEND ME TO COLLECTIONS. Needless to say I called their bluff and told them to call in their loan. We ended up coming in and signing in order to just resolve things and move forward. I was provided no apology or compensation for my wasted time or acting in a completely unprofessional manner in regards to their egregious disregard for my wife and I as customers of this bank. The one star goes out to the call centre employee. He provided a quick and painless service. Avoid this branch at all costs. The management who told their employee to send this email are a bunch of spineless cowards hiding behind the word of the law and unable to accommodate their customer base in a professional manner. They lack the skills, training and known how to provide meaningful financial services.

Just wanted to do some quick banking instead, got to listen to a very unhappy customer raise her voice for 10 minutes explaining how the bank screwed her nnew mortgage papers I told my teller that it was very uncomfortable and they should have asked her to go in an office behind closed doors. Every customer was uncomfortable and the manager speaking with the lady did nothing except listen to her vent really loudly. Then, my teller couldn't figure out a simple transaction and he said my name wrong lol. Here's a tip buddy if you don't care to pronounce easy names, don't do it!

I had to pop by BMO today last minute as I was unable to make the appointment time I had booked for next day. I didn't call ahead or anything and everything I needed was taken care of in no time at all. The lady who worked at the front counter had already prepared the items I was picking and wasn't expecting me until the next day which was amazing. And then I randomly had to pop in to see Shellie the Financial Services Manager with regards to a previous discussion we had and she assisted me right away. I had a very convenient visit today at the BMO New Castle branch. I can only hope that my future visits will be as good as this.

I needed to close and open a new bank account as my personal information had been compromised. This bank made the process relatively painless. They comped me the price if new cheques, which was so awesome, and they were able to fax off some information for me as well. After an error in a money order I purchased to pay my rent, I returned to the branch and they returned everything, including the price of the money order. They helped make a nightmare-ish and very stressful situation easier. Though it sucks there's no BMO closer to me, I'm glad this is the one I stumbled into.

On New Years Eve, 2021, I came by to ask a question about my account but I noticed they closed early instead of the 4;00 regular time. I turned to walk away when a guy ( Anwar) unlocked the door and asked if he could help me. When I told him what I came in for he brought me in and between him and Christi solved my issue right away. Thank you for going above what is expected, I so much appreciate them staying late to help a random customer. Cheers to BMO and exceptionally helpful people like these two!

Great place for me it close to my residence I like the staff and lots of parking for me it's A O K it's got everything that I need no need to go down town. I support this place much better . Ed T
