This place will take your breath away! Beautiful inside and out. The gardens have been built to be beautiful in every season. The customer service for my son and daughter in laws outdoor wedding was top notch! Beautiful water view....The inside of this amazing heritage building will take your breath away! Great for weddings, family reunions, or one night stays. A must see.

Beautiful place - although unfortunately it’s next to a busy road, between it and the lake. Very interesting history. It has a really friendly, intimate feel given it only has a few rooms, and given the very friendly couple who are hosts. Breakfast isn’t included, despite what the listing said (at least with rate we got) - was $15 per person. Pool was cold, and needed a bit of a clean. Overall we really enjoyed it.

We had our wedding at Blaylock Mansion this past weekend and it was more than I ever could have imagined for my wedding! It truly was a dream come true. The property itself is stunning and being able to spend the weekend with your closest friends in a mansion was unforgettable! Sherry and Ryan were amazing and so respectful. My husband and I still talk about how they treated us like royalty when we were there months ago in the planning phases of our wedding. Our wedding party stayed with us in the mansion and were so pleased with how nice, pleasant and helpful Sherry and Ryan were. The owners, Brett and Jennifer, were wonderful to deal with and gave lots of great suggestions that had worked well at other weddings that contributed to our unforgettable weekend. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of and we had a stress free wedding to enjoy. We had a few last minute changes and things we had forgotten and when told to either Brett or Sherry the response was always “Not a problem. We will take care of it.” It was such a fun weekend that my husband and I (and all of our guests) enjoyed every minute of! Not many brides have a stress free wedding and having my wedding at Blaylock Mansion made that happen for me! I mean, my husband played tennis then relaxed in the sun by the pool with his groomsmen before getting ready for the day. Not many grooms can say their wedding day started that way! Us girls all got to relax with champagne in the bridal suite while getting our hair and makeup done! The only thing I would have changed about the weekend would be that we could move in permanently so we never had to leave! I would strongly recommend to anyone thinking of planning a wedding here that you book it and book the whole weekend. It will be an unforgettable experience that you will never want to end.

I spent a lovely weekend at the Mansion celebrating a friends wedding. The grounds were beautiful and the room were cheerful, restful, and clean. The breakfasts provided were delicious and the hospitality was wonderful. Thank you for creating a space like this. It was honestly the perfect wedding venue.

The perfect romantic engagement setting and wedding venue! We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at the Blaylock this past weekend, and we highly recommend it as a venue to celebrate weddings! Brett and his wife, (the owners) and Sherry and Ryan, (the hosts) were so helpful and supportive to my daughter and son in law through the wedding planning process. Even with the last minute hectic wedding day plans, they were very accommodating and helped make everything perfect! The house hosts 14 people, so the wedding party stayed there for the weekend, and we stayed at the quaint cottage on the grounds. It was wonderful for friends and family to enjoy time together relaxing around the pool and visiting the day before the wedding. The bridal suite is beautiful and quite large so the bridal party was able to get ready there together on the wedding day. The groomsmen were able to get ready in the large recreation/lounge room downstairs. The surrounding garden provided the most picturesque backdrop for the ceremony and for guests to meander through during the day. Thank you to Brett and his team for making our daughter’s wedding perfect in every way!! Blaylock is also a beautiful and romantic setting for wedding proposals. Four years earlier our son proposed to our daughter in law after a romantic dinner in the gardens. Best place ever!!

What a great experience, a chance to stay in one of Canada's great old mansions. reminiscent of the Banff Springs hotel in Alberta. The stay features access to most of the mansion and the 13 acre well groomed grounds with spectacular views of the Kootenai lake. Just minutes from Nelson you wont be disappointed. The caretakers are wonderful people ready to answer any of your questions and welcome you. We spent two nights and took the opportunity to lounge in the various rooms our favorite being the arboretum. The rooms are nice and comfortable unfortunately being an historical mansion built in the early 1900 it doesn't have air conditioning. That aside you have large windows for ventilation. My wife did run out of water when taking her morning shower, not sure why but it just stopped there doesn't appear to be any issues regarding the source of water as there is plenty of spring fed water around. I suggest if its busy take your shower before you go to bed. The drinking water out of the tap is one of the best I have ever had. If your looking for an experience and enjoy what BC has to offer this is your place, touring the grounds alone is worth the experience.

The Blaylock Mansion is a truly magical place, and the owners and hosts are wonderful people. We felt very welcome and at home during our stay and appreciated how understanding they were as we navigated challenges with our wedding planning. We would recommend this place for anyone looking for a special stay or special event in Nelson!

What a special and lovely place to stay. Blaylock’s Mansion is worth experiencing. The architecture is still amazing after many decades. The house is large but the scale of the rooms is intimate and comfortable. The gardens are very beautiful and we were there before much was blooming. You can see the great care “Blay” took in his landscape design. Loved our stay there!
