★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite a new trail. Starts off with step like rocks and twists and turns. The elevation comes on quite fast. Took us 50mins to hike 1.8km to the Lyons Bluff lookout. You can go further to the summit but we didn't keep going. Just under 40mins back down to the parking lot. There's a few lookouts on the way up. The Lyons Bluff lookout even has a bench.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a fantastic trail just across the orange bridge from Nelson proper. We didn’t get to the summit as the rain came sooner than forecast, but we probably got about halfway up in an hour and a half. The trail is very thoughtfully built using rocks from the mountainside to form steps across a rockfall area, and then some dirt switchbacks in other areas. The hours that went into this beautiful trail work must have been immense! The view from the bluff at 1.8 km looks back at Nelson and the other side of the Kootenay Lake. Take lots of water as the hike goes steadily upward!
