Presented a training here. The agency serves the African Caribbean Community with many programs and services.

I have frequently donated money to support this society. I recently donated $200 through the Chimp Foundation. Since this latter foundation took some time to forward the donation, I contacted Black Coalition For AIDS Prevention (BCAP) to see if the funds had been received. The response received stated that someone would get back to me. To date I have not had a reply. I would have thought that the BCAP would make every effort to confirm receipt of donations, but this has not been the case. With this lack of response, I will be looking for another charity to give my hard earned money. I have updated my original review from one star to four since I heard back from BCAP that my donation, minus a deduction, had been received. Based on this reply, I now know how much of my future donations will be received by this organization.

My mom worked in this organization some time ago around 6 years ago, she had been in Canada for 6 months as an immigrant from Kenya. Before being fired the HR and the volunteer coordinator then kept warning her that she is lucky she got the job when refugees are not hired yet there were other refugees who hadn’t even gone for their hearing working there too. The volunteer coordinator who was Nigerian man called Nnaji and the HR a Jamaican lady fired her just because she did an interview where her job description was mentioned. Only people from Nigeria and Jamaica are treated with decency. Before another lady from Central Africa got the same treatment and also got fired too whom later sued them for xenophobia. I hope this organization specifically the HR and volunteer coordinator have changed for the better and will be able to give everyone equal treatment despite their background, status or where they come from.
