Beattie Pet Hospital - Stoney Creek

I have never posted a review before as I have spent many years in customer service and understand they can be biased, however this business has forced me to. I won't go into the details of all the headaches we have had to endure just to fill a prescription for our senior dog, a medication she has been taking for several years from this office, a medication we are required to prepay for and then wait 4 days for. With the extra wait ( snow storm, understand) we were going to run out of meds and asked for 2 pills to ensure, in case they still didn't come in, our dog wouldn't go without her pill. We drove through the storm only to find out they were going to charge us $18.82 for 2 pills,9X more than her actual pills! This is only a portion of the constant errors and money grabbing tactics that we have encountered at this location and unfortunately it seems they are increasingly known for. There is no customer service, I won't even get into the rudeness we have dealt with over the phone, no personal relationships, a manager was supposed to reach out a.s.a.p. that was 3 days ago. After many years at this office I couldn't name one vet, you constantly see different ones, noone knows you or your pet which has caused numerous errors and miscommunication. When an error on their part was made on blood work they want it redone but refuse to redo unless we pay. Our dog is a senior, she is a 13 year old large breed dog and as long time dog owners we are now just trying to let our girl live out her best life possible! As car rides and the vets office are her 2 biggest stressors we aren't interested in dragging her back and forth. It's very disheartening to know that your veterinary clinic cannot be relied on to also want the best senior life for your dog, not really caring about the animal, only the dollars involved.

my kitten got spayed a week ago and an infection began. as soon as i noticed i started calling around to emergency vets. they were the only vet that would take her on such short notice. i called at 5 pm and got her for an appointment the next day at 11am. they were quick, very helpful and polite while answering all the questions i had. amazing service. i’ll definitely recommend this animal hospital to friends and family if need be!

I can't say enough great things about this clinic. You saved our day and turned a nightmare into a warm family memory. We had an appointment booked yesterday at another clinic to have our pooch put down, but had a HORRIBLE experience upon arriving for the procedure. We left extremely upset, with our boys crying. We called Beattie in a pinch, they took us right away and were incredibly accommodating. Thank you so much for having staff who CARE, and for prioritizing your clients and furry friends. We will absolutely be coming to you when we are ready for a new pet.

We had to take our palliative golden retriever in on a Sunday morning for euthanasia as our family vet was closed and she was experiencing respiratory failure as a complication of her cancer among other issues. The tech and vet were very professional, compassionate and accommodating. Idk if it was a coincidence or not, but one of the blankets they put down for her was covered in Winnie the Pooh (her name was Winnie) which made both me and my husband feel very touched. They also minded our other dog during the procedure and bright him in after we had our moment so that he could also say goodbye. We never felt rushed through the process and they made her final moments as calm and peaceful as possible. We have used this vets office a few times when our dogs have had an emergency on the weekend. Our experience has always been good and we prefer it there over the Hamilton emergency vet clinic. Thank-you for helping us make sure Winnie crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday peacefully.

I've been going to Beattie since 2015. From when we lost our first cat and had to out her down, the staff were so compassionate and empathetic. To our now three pets. Excellent service. Staff are always friendly and professional. My dog is never anxious when we go inside or when she sees the vet. Same with our cats as well. Just a great atmosphere and very clean. The prices are great too. As a pet owner I just feel my furbabies are getting the best.

Staff are pretty awesome here. It is usually very busy and appointments are needed for almost everything. I always appreciated how they are open 24/hrs, 'after hours' does have a higher fee but so worth not having to find an emergency vet or the anxiety waiting until morning. Not taking pictures of inside to respect those who had sad times here. However, it is ALWAYS clean, disinfected and organized. Because it is a teaching vet the Doctors rotate. So if you find one your pet seems to prefer, you can ask for them specifically and have it noted in your file.

Had an absolutely incredible experience with Dr Mellish. I brought my Senior dog in for an emergency appointment and Dr. Mellish did such a kind job of explaining to me the treatment and diagnostic options for my little lady. My dog had had some extreme respiratory distress so both her and I were in rough shape. Dr. Mellish was so patient answering all of my questions and coming up with a treatment plan. Can’t thank her enough for how well she took care of my baby girl.

My family and I have been bringing our beautiful flame tipped Ragdoll Kitty here for years now. We visit frequently as our kitty is long haired and will often matt causing issues for her. Her lion cuts are done very nicely and always make her so adorable! My family and I are very satisfied with Beattie's and always recommend them to other pet owners. The prices are great and services fantastic. The vet's, groomers, and other service providers here are very kind and explain the services as well as options for the needs of our kitty in detail. We never feel that anything unrequired is being pushed on us. Beattie Pet Hospital is open 24hrs and handles emergencies as well (without the high emergency fees that other Pet Hospitals charge!). They have made us feel very safe during these Covid times with curbside drop/pick ups. The vet will then call us as they examine and for follow ups afterwards. Our kitty is our life and love and we trust Beattie to care for her. If you are like us give them a try and I am sure you will not be disappointed ❤
