BCMInns - Hinton

This place was great! The water slide is awesome! We had a group of 19 year olds and they all loved it (including my 30 year old husband and 60 year old father in law ?)! The front desk was great (Tanya I think?). The pool ended up having service done while we where there and she offered our group a room with couches and tv and big kitchen since the pool was not available the second day. Great place to stay for a super price?

My partner and I stayed at the BCMI Inn from January 28 - 30th 2022 and had a such a positive experience! Check-in was quick and informative and the staff were friendly. As soon as we got to the room, we noticed how clean and spacious it was. Our room also had a small kitchen area with a full sized fridge which was awesome if you wanted to bring your own meals or milk for your coffee. There was a Keurig with ready-to-use pods and the coffee was great! And don't worry if you run out of coffee because they have coffee in the lobby with the included breakfast. That was also a nice treat; we liked the croissants, hard boiled eggs, waffles, yogurt and orange juice. Due to COVID, you grab your food and go, which was fine as we went back to our room to eat. The beds were comfortable and there are extra pillows in the room if you need them. The room also had blackout curtains, which I like for privacy and for getting a good night's rest. This seems like a minor detail, but we really liked the shampoo, conditioner and body cream that they offered in the bathroom. Those were a pleasant surprise. We have two small dogs and sometimes that can be a limitation on when and where we can travel. This hotel is pet friendly and very convenient as it has a walkout section making it easier for bathroom breaks and walks. We were within walking distance of quite a few places to eat which made dinners easy; Ranchers and Ricki's are less than a 10 minute walk and were tasty. The BCMI Inn in Hinton was a great place to stay and we will be back for another weekend getaway!

Positive: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was an issue with the room we were swapped right away and cheerfully. Negative: Walls are all patched, rooms look extremely worn. Our first room had hair on the bed we swapped second room had clean sheets to sleep in but there was here on the walls and again lots of patches including a fist Mark patched by the bathroom sink.

In comparison to the quality inn and super 8 in Hinton that I've had to stay at for work this one is definitely better. There's still room for improvement though. I was in the second building and there is only one lock on the door, the deadbolt doesn't line up properly so it didn't work, the weather stripping was coming off the bottom of the door and I could see light around the sides of the door. The computer chair, other chair and headboard had white bodily fluids on it and the rooms have no sound proofing at all. I could hear all conversations all around me, kids running around and screaming passed the rooms and someone's alarm clock would go off every morning at 4am and they wouldn't shut it off. It would still be going at 6am when I'd be leaving. The manager was quick to try and rectify the body fluid issue by bringing me new chairs but the other staff weren't as great. When told about the alarm issue they originally said they'd come check it out then when I went for breakfast and let them know it was still going on they said they'd have to get maintenance to look at it. It was never dealt with so I had 6 hours of sleep every night between when people would finally be quiet and when that alarm would go off. The morning breakfast is alright. Powdered eggs and they change it up between sausage, bacon and ham. The bed wasn't the best, there was a rogue spring that would pop and you could tell the mattresses needed to be rotated as it was the one side that was horribly worn out. The kitchenette has the small size fridge and not a lot of counter space but it is usable. Bathroom was nice and clean. The carpets could use a good vacuum and shampoo though as when I dropped a pillow on the floor and picked it up it was covered in black hair, the carpet has that sticky dirty feeling to it. Overall not great but not the worst in Hinton.

The Staff: they were super friendly through the whole process, from booking direct over the phone, check in, texting option to communicate with the hotel is an added bonus, during our stay staff were all very open to helping with anything. We traveled with our two large dogs, and they were accommodating to get us a room to suit our needs on the main floor, near an exit point even on a busy family day weekend. The Hotel: A large two part hotel: a main building and a two story inn next to it. We stayed in the hotel portion. It was obvious they were working on some repairs and maintenance around the building, so it was good to see them working on up keep. The breakfast area was open 24/7 for coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The morning had a nice selection of breakfast items pre packed to take to go in your room or stay and eat in the dining area. The pool: It was a busy weekend, so it was pretty packed, and the hot tub was out of order. It's not a very deep pool; the whole thing is about waist height, and the kids enjoyed the slide anyway. All in all, we had a good stay; we aren't fancy or full of unreasonable expectations, and it suited us just fine.

Positive: The space in the room was awesome for the kids to stretch their legs after a long drive. We took advantage of the pool and waterslide and the staff were all helpful and friendly. Negative: This is very minor in comparison to everything else but the pillows were not comfortable. It would also be awesome to have some gluten friendly options for breakfast.

We stayed here for our week as a home base while touring around! Clean and Friendly The housekeeping staff are incredible! Everyone did their best to make this as comfortable as we are home and they succeeded! Thank you so much for all you have done….. it meant the world! Great service, great people, no issues at all. We will be back someday!

We booked a queen suite. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff who were amazingly friendly. They were very helpful and knowledge. We had a maintenance issue and informed the front desk. In a matter of minutes maintenance was at our room fixing the issue. The pool was awesome for our 8 year old as it is only 0.9m deep so he could stand as he was going down the slide. The fitness center has lots of equipment you can use. If I could give them 10 starts I would. We will definitely be making this our hotel of choice for future trips.
