Barb & Ernie's Old Country Inn

I am very sad to say this place has gone down hill. I used to make the 20+ minute drive all the way here because they used to have some of the best eggs benny. I went on a Saturday that wasn't to busy. The restaurant was about 65% full. I always get the original eggs benny because I am a big fan of white wine hollandaise sauce, personally I like my eggs poached soft. The first time I ordered it the ham was a little burnt but I thought "hey, that's fine" but after cutting into my eggs I found them to be more on the medium/hard side. I tried to eat a couple bites but grew disappointed as the hollandaise sauce started separating; it was super watery and bland, not rich and creamy at all. I thought maybe I just got the top of the pot or something. So I waited for our waitress to come back to ask how things were so I could send it back. I waited next to ten minutes and tried waving her down several times but she was to busy chatting with another waitress. I finally got her attention and she came over. After my family was about half way through our meals I received a new plate of eggs benny I was super hungry so dived right back in the first I egg I had was cooked perfectly, however the sauce was super watery and bland still tasted like nothing. Upon the second egg I found it tasted off. I flipped it over to find out it was more fried than poached (see attached picture). I was super disappointed and my family was already finished so I asked for the check. The waitress never came back to check and see how our meal was. My son's pancakes were undercooked almost raw in the middle as well as everyones hashbrowns were similar to mush and had maybe that were cooked on one side while the rest were practically raw. Then when we stood up to pay we waited for 5 minutes as waitresses who just standing around watched us. Finally someone abruptly came up and was super rude and asked if we standing there to pay?? I have never had such poor service and food from this place until now. The last couple times we would come it was mediocre but about 2 years ago this place was incredible. I always hoped it would go back to being an amazing breakfast place but with each visit it has gotten worse each time.

I went with my girlfriend for brunch and had a wonderful experience. The bratwurst is very good. I forget our waitresses name but she had red hair and made the experience wonderful. She was friendly, chipper, extremely knowledgeable about both the menu and allergies. She more than likely saved me from a trip to the emergency room. We will definitely be going back knowing I can have a safe, enjoyable brunch.

This place is amazing! I'm sad I didn't go there sooner. Food was amazing as well as service! Huuuuuge portions and they have frozen meals to go as well!

Barb n Ernie's is a landmark. It's a very unique experience. The food and German draft beer is second to none. One of the best places I've ever enjoyed breakfast at. Their staff are friendly and fast. You have to go try it.

In this german restaurant Meat is dominant on their menu. When you walk by the tables, you will see the meats in all forms. OK, I am not very excited about this part. However, on one of my vegan friend's recommendations, I went back there to try their vegan breakfast. They had a good V. Pancake, very fluffy but I wish they will had less spices. Home made vegan sausage, a vegan coconut Whip cream and Apple butter are also homemade. Would I go there as a regular so often? Probably not as a vegan but I am sure the food is good enough for others that you need to wait on the lineup for 30+ minutes.

Love this place. Old school. Decent prices, huge portions. Excellent staff. Come here over a chain any time.

Eggs were cooked perfect, portions were amazing for price. We got the smoked salmon and combo meat eggs Benny. Service was great even during the busy rush of people

Wow. Just wow! Food is excellent, customer service is superb and the portions are huge! Even though it was so busy, there was ALWAYS someone checking on us! We had the schnitzel- literally can feed a village with how huge it is, Belgian waffle- soooo soft & fluff, and the eggs benny- omg that hollandaise sauce is something else! Super impressed with Char's curry ketchup is incredible! First time here and will definitely make this a brunch staple in the future!
